Low price trumps all
If you are looking for outstanding sushi you may want to look elsewhere, however if you want decent sushi of good quality at shockingly low prices this is the place.

Great for cheap sushi
Not the best quality sushi you'll ever eat, or the best atmosphere, and the service is pretty slow. But damn, the value is fantastic. The Bento Box for $11.75 or so includes miso, salad, 2 dumplings, a nice helping of sushi (nigiri or sashimi), a nice size entree and rice. We didn't have any room left for the rolls we ordered -- which were $2.50 each. For an easy, cheap dinner in the neighborhood, I'll definately be back.

Great sushi cheap
To the person who said you placed an order because it was cold & you didnt want to go out & you found it strange that the delivery guy was upset after you only gave him $1 on a $10 bill. To which I ask are you for real or just cheap ? The minimum u should ever give a delivery guy is $2 & that's if your poor like them, $3 or $4 is standard, $5 dollars is a good tip & $10 or more is what you give if your rich to make up for cheap people like you. I suggest if you can't afford to top atleast $2 you should eat top ramen or pick up your own sushi at the restraunt

Good Sushi for cheap
Their Spicy Tuna although not very spicy still good none the less. I have ordered food from here several times and never had one problem. Their bathroom is rather horrible but most if it is because other patrons go in there and write on the walls. Very good fast cheap take out.

strange experience
I order out and eat here quite a bit. One night a waitress added a 20% gratuity to my party of 3. I asked about it and she said, "yes I already added it you dont have to leave a tip." So I asked her if it was the restaurants policy to add gratuity to a party of 3. She said, "yes." I didnt believe her so I located on the menu where they state gratuity is added to parties of 5 or 6 (I cant remember) and I asked to see a manager. There was not a manager working at the time. She then offered to remove the gratuity from the check. I called to speak with the manager the next night and he wasn't there so I sort of gave up on my cause. This was a bad experience for me. The food is fine and you can't beat the prices but this waitress is bad for business.

"unhappy newbie" is an idiot...
This place is very good and fresh and budget friendly. First off theres no way an eel roll and 2 pieces of yellowtail cost $15 bucks.....thats more like 7 bucks all together....and second of all someone has wax in their ear....the 50% off special doesnt start at 10pm like he stated.....its starts after you've spent $10. Stupid people really shouldnt write reviews

Excellent taste and quality for price
I have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. When one enters, the wait-staff acknowledge you immediately, even if it is crowded. The food is always fresh and the rolls rather creative. The price is exceptionally low. I notice that some here have complained about the decor, cleanliness, etc. Although I would not say that I've ever witnessed anything dirty, this is not an elegant place. It is down-to-earth and real, just like what NYC has meant for New Yorkers it is not trying to be something it is not. I appreciate this more so than the faux attempt at ethnic ambiance on behalf of some places. Part of the experience of dining here is about appreciating the east village and the ambiance of the adjacent Tomkins Sq. Park. A New Yorker, I recently moved to an NJ suburb due to my studies, where the restaurants are neat but awful and pretentious in their sense of decor and atmosphere. I will take Sushi Lounge over them any day, with its punked-out bathroom, view of Tomkins Sq. Park and the sundry characters that peer in through its wide-open windows.
