when i moved here i was disappointed at the less than average asian restaurants - thai, chinese, korean, japanese, etc (saigon grill is decent). i don't get why people love Land Thai - is it the minimalistic decor? because the food is bland and pretty whatever. Sura has fast delivery and the noodle dishes are great. the curry was too sweet for my liking, i would stick to noodles.

Just went here with a girlfriend. Atmosphere is hip, but more importantly the food is delicious and a great price! I had the papaya salad and mango red snapper and my friend had the pad thai with shrimp. Everything was delish! We are planning to go back to get for the $8 lunch specials. Great place!

A few weeks ago I had Shrimp Pad Thai and fingerling spring rolls to go. The pad thai was dry as hell. I used some of the "peanut sauce" that I had also order, this tasted very sugary as if it had chocolate and no peanuts! What is up with that???? The spring rolls were super oily and the thai ice tea I could have passed on. Overall it was less than satisfying. Bottomline... PASS!

This tiny Thai restaurant is excellent in very respect. Smiling waitstaff, unbeatable prices, many dishes not usually found on Thai menus in NYC, and best of all, absolutely delicious food. Great special lunch and brunch menus, too. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

I went to Sura on a brunch date this past weekend, and it was so good! I also can't believe how inexpensive it was for such nice portions of high quality food! I had the $8 lunch special which included an appetizer, main dish, AND dessert! Wow! I had the green papaya salad (light and refreshing!), the chicken with cashew nuts (had a lot of vegetables in there too!) with brown rice (at no extra charge!), and then the baked taro root custard dessert (yum!). The service was fast and very nice, and the place is really pretty and quiet. I love Sura!

I ordered from here tonight because I feel like I'm getting a cold and wanted something spicy to knock it out of me. The reviews, as you may have read, make this restaurant seem quite appealing. I ordered Tom Yum Guy with chicken and a chicken in red curry sauce for delivery. The delivery guy calls my cell phone saying that he's here but doesn't see my apartment number (because he's on the wrong street). Then he bikes over (I know this because I went outside to wait for him when he said he was at my building) He calls me again because he once more cannot find my apartment number (this is because he is at the building across the street). He apologizes, gives me my food, I sign the check and he goes away. I put my food on the kitchen table to take a call. Ten minutes later I open the bag to find that my chicken with red curry had spilled everywhere during the delivery. I was upset, but hungry and with a headache. I salvaged what I could (it was mainly just the sauce that had spilled). I ate it. It wasn't great. There was an odd mix of flavors that I hadn't had in a Thai restaurant before. Not bad, but not good either. Then my Tom Yum Guy soup. For those who do not know, Tom Yum Guy is a lemongrass broth soup with chives, mushrooms, a meat and sometimes one or two other vegetables. The key here is LEMONgrass. I swear to you, it was like drinking chocolate. It was so sweet... not a single hint of lemon or grass.

Really good thai food, not skimpy with the spice on the green curry with chicken. Other dishes at the table, roasted duck and minced chicken, were also well liked. Both times the service was excellent- attentive and gracious. The value is amazing. Presentation and atmosphere make you forget most dishes are only $10. I usually keep these places to myself- but really want them to stay around. enjoy.
