This is my favorite restaurant in all of the city.

The food is local and amazing, the atmosphere is hip but warm, the staff are chill, there is always something fun going on... You can't ask for a better place

Fine food, cool vibe, but awful service

We went there for dinner last night (saturday) and were appalled at the service. It took our waiter 15 minutes (literally) to greet us and take our drink orders. He never checked on us again, even while we were eating our food. Then, after we had eaten, he came and said our food would be out in a few minutes. We had to tell him that we had already eaten and could we see the dessert menu please! Yikes! He didn't even apologize or care. He was rude, forgetful, and very unfortunate. He was cursing about not being able to open wine bottles at the table next to us, and that was also disturbing. The food was creative and fresh, and definitely fine, though not totally outstanding. The decor and vibe of the place was nice, and we enjoyed sitting there. I hate feeling so neglected and frustrated by the service though, so I was definitely disappointed by the experience after reading the wonderful review in "Edible Brooklyn". Superfine was fine, but not super.

    Rude Service

I have lived in Brooklyn for over four years and get the fact that DUMBO has to emit a cool vibe but the bartenders here are unpleasant. They ignore you unless you're hitting on them. My friend and I waited for ten minutes while being ignored by three different bartenders. Maybe they didn't care but poor customer service in these economic times is stupid. We won't ever be back. Get it together management! Tacky service doesn't work.

    Not worth it

To sum up my brunch experience: bad service, didn't pay attention to my order and brought me wrong thing. Never came back to check up on the table so was sitting there trying to flag someone down. When I got someone, they seemed annoyed that I stopped them and it wasn't our waitress. Had to ask for more coffee. Had to ask for check. They weren't even paying attention to the table, and it wasn't busy. Menu and food very plan, won't return nor recommend.

    Superfine is good.

I really like this restaurant. First of all, they have an absolutely delicious steak au-poivre. I've had it 4 times, and every time, it is soft, rich, peppery and cooked perfectly to temperature. They use organic, fresh ingredients and you can really tell (unlike many other restaurants that make this claim). For example, the 'green salad' that comes with the steak was different every time I had it, crisp and tasty each time. Their fish dishes are also excellent and usually simply prepared, but taste very fresh and 'rustic.' The atmosphere is cool - it is an open space that feels modern and young, but not pretentious or overdone. It feels good in there - like your in a cool place that is unique, but still comfortable. The service is good but a bit inconsistent. They use a 'rotating' staff system - any one of the floor staff could approach you at any time - but no one will know what you said to the last person. They just seem a bit disorganized with roles not properly defined. I've often had to ask for water to be refilled - and then have it not happen. Some waitresses/waiters are super sharp and on top of it, others don't seem to know what's going on. that said, they have never messed up an order, are always very nice people, and the food comes out right on time. I've always gotten just what I asked for (even when substituting special requests). The most expensive entree is $22. They usually play good music (often complete album sides, which is something more restaurants should do). The best thing about Superfine is the food - its original, fresh and healthy and makes it worth a trip there.

    my favorite restaurant in brooklyn.

superfine has become my favorite restaurant in brooklyn. i have been there many times and have never been let down. the staff is friendly and welcoming and many even remember me from previous visits. the menu is slightly limited since it's small, however i have always had the most delicious dinners. the one word that comes to mind when i think of the food is: FRESH! and i love how the bar/lounge area blends into the dining area and the pool table rocks! the variety of atmospheres within superfine itself allow for one-stop shopping on a night out...have your dinner, have some drinks, hang out....all in one spot! a night at superfine is always a wonderful (and delicious!) time.
