To be fair, when I sat down and ordered my usual breakfast, the waiter showed me the menu saying "new prices" . I said I didn't care. Well I can't say I wasn't warned. I got the check and it was easily 25 -35% more expensive! This for a breakfast then included that rye toast and those frozen kit potatoes. Adios, Sunflower as your prices have now far eclipsed your convenience and better than average service. For the same amount of money I can get the real home cooking, linen table settings and ambiance of an upscale restaurant, so why bother going here anymore?

Over time, ordered delivery on this numerous times. Then, on about the 6/8th time it arrived presenting underside up a little overdone/slightly burned. Turned it over and the skin side had never seen the flame at all. Assumed the chef, having given the underside tooooo much flame, was afraid of drying it out by turning it over to complete the cooking. Complaint was met with TS. Ordered it again a few weeks later. Same thing! Couldn't believe it.

For the price you pay for in a nice location in Manhattan, Sunflower's food is very good. I don't usually dine there because it's too crowded, and they don't serve mimosa. Other than these two complaints -- if you can call them complaints -- the food is very good, and the staff has a very nice sense of humor all the time ;)

Tasty foods include: Lox sandwich, salads, apple pie, french fries. Foods to avoid: Waffles, bacon. Coffee is variable. They have fresh-squeezed OJ but is is pricey. I never eat in the restaurant because of poor experiences in the pasts. It's good for grabbing a quick meal to take to work or home.

Just ordered for delivery a waffle with fresh berries through seamless web and asked for some extra whipped cream. I got an amazing waffle fully covered in fresh great strawberries and a huge side of whipped cream. It was really great, the waffle was soft and delicious and the strawberry were fresh and tasty!! Will def go back!

This used to be one of my favorite diners in the area. They have gone downhill over the last 6 months for some reason. I just ordered my usual breakfast with a large orange juice, and when it arrived the oj was spilled all over the bag. When I called to let them know what happened they argued with me and gave me a hard time about replacing the $4 orange juice I purchased. They had me save the bag full of oj and give it back to the delivery man and told me he was going to pay for!? I mean really?? So now you want to make me feel bad on top of it..... These people need some lessons about customer service.

After debating where to order dinner for three hours I finally decided on Sunflower diner out of sheer desperation. Such a treat! I had the chicken salad over greek salad with warm pita and it was delicious. It was a huge portion too, so you could easily have leftovers. My friends followed suit and the poor delivery guy ended up coming to my apartment three separate times, but he was so sweet and it was totally worth it! I had a bite of my friend's challah french toast and it was incredible. I am definitely taking my family to this place for breakfast when they come up again to visit. The menu literally has....everything. I've been dreaming about when I will be able to order from them again!
