I used to order here all the time and now I must depart. The reasons being is that the delivery service and food are not up to par. I have called to order many times, and I must agree that the girl who takes my order is very efficient and kind however, the food that I have received is not all that great. When I call and complain about the order I've received, the girl does all that she can to fix it. The delivery has taken so long and I am not sure as to why. All I can say is that my departure has its reasons.

I have lived in the neighborhood for about 2 years now and Sumo is my to go sushi spot. Their rolls are fresh, cheap, and the establishment is up the block. What makes this place great is the cashier. Not quite sure of her name but, definitely will ask next time. She makes sure that things are done the right way. I have never seen someone with so much motivation in an establishment like this before. I feel bad for her because she has so much potential at a better job. She gives her customers the best service and she remembers my order by heart. If that is not great service, I dont know what is. Go for the sushi but also go for the cashier, she will make sure your order is done right.

Food is good, especially since the neighborhood doesn't have many sushi delivery options. Delivery is fast, but the delivery guy is not nice. My last experience has put me off, I'm going to be looking for other options.

Since it opened, I have ordered here numerous times. The food has also been top notch and the counter staff very helpful and friendly. Lately, I have ordered delivery instead of my usual take out... but delivery staff disappoints. I think Sumo needs to hire a new back kitchen staff. I have waited an hour more for delivery and every time I get my food, the delivery guy always seems to grumble. I love ordering from here but I prefer to order by take out. The counter staff is much friendlier and they seem to know what they are doing. There is a girl who has been working there for a long time and she gives me the best customer service. They are lucky to have her. As I said, great yellowtail and scallion roll, brooklyn roll, and tasty hot pots. If you go, go in person.

Sumo delivery is always fast and accurate. Food is fresh and good value.

Charged $310.33 for a meal that was $31.03. lied to me and told me it had been reversed... food is OK, but the cashier clearly cannot multi-task...

i love sumo! while the ambiance on the inside is nothing to write home about, the sushi is awesome, the staff are efficient and friendly, and that's really all that matters! the bench outside is a good spot to chill with your dog while waiting for your order to go, and it's on havermeyer, so the people-watching can sometimes get interesting. deliveries always come in less time than predicted. i used to live in lower manhattan, and sumo's fare by far eclipses the spots down there.
