    Supbar Food/Place & Reservation Scam

I had a reservation at Sullivan Bistro for a party of 6. I made this reservation as a way to get extra points on a restaurant reservation website. I figured couldn't hurt to try it. The entire party arrived on time for the reservation. Everyone was a little weirded out as the decor was kind of like a dirty old lady's house and it was very cramped. The food was pretty poor as well but they had a nice pour on the wine so we thought no big deal, at least we're getting the points from the website for eating there. Each person in the party ordered a full entree, drinks, and dessert. On the following Monday I recieved an e-mail from the website advising that Sullivan Bistro had cancelled my reservation. I called Sullivan Bistro every single day from for a week and a half after recieving the e-mail attempting to have them correctly note the reservation as having taken place. The restaurant gave me numerous excuses as to why the reservation was cancelled varying from claiming the whole party did not arrive, to the party did not arrive on time, to not every person ordered an entree, etc. These were all complete lies. Finally after my 8th phone call to the restaurant I was advised that Sullivan Bistro would be contacting the website to correct the incorrectly cancelled reservation and rewarding the points. To date this has not occurred. The food and decor at Sullivan Bistro were all extremely poor. It was a tiny establishment that clearly did not know how to work it's heat/air as it was very hot and we had to request the door be propped open to allow for air flow. I felt awful having picked this establishment on behalf of my friends but took solace in knowing that at least I would recieve the reward points. And yet I have not recieved them. Long and short of it - before I knew they screwed me on the points I had already decided I would never go there again. Thank you and I hope to hear from someone soon.

    Bah!

Food was bland and overpriced! Do not try the homemade corned beef has for brunch! Practically inedible! Best thing we had was the free bed covered in dulce de leche.

    Peasant chicken to die for

Sullivan Bistro offers a wide variety of French dishes. It's also a nicely designed restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. The staff is pretty good. We tried a dish called Peasant Chicken and it's awesome. Multiple trips have been made to the restaurant just for this particular dish. Definitely worth the visit!

    An Ecclectic Restaurant

I was pleasantly surprised to have discovered this cozy restaurant in the Greenwich Village area. I frequently dine out in NYC, and rarely find a restaurant which meets all of my strict criteria. Well, Sullivans is definitely my "new," favorite spot to dine. The staff were very accomodating, polite, and well presented. Also, the food was to die for! I had a wonderful and filling dinner which consisted of jumbo breaded shrimps, and also a skirt steak. These were the specials for the evening. Sullivan's wine list was extensive, but the waitress helped me decide just the right one I felt so much in the holiday spirit with the beautifully decorated Christmas wreaths, hanging ceiling ornaments, and the white garland which was drapped around the kitchen area. When I enter into any restaurant, I automatically make a judgement based on the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was spotless, and also the open kitchem allowed its' customers to see how organized, meticulous, and clean the chefs work Without any reservations, I would recommend this restaurant to my family, friends, and anyone else who is looking for an ecclectic menu, total cleanliness, and a warm, friendly, and charming restaurant staff I would also like to mention that the price range within Sullivan's is quite reasonable; especially considering the very large plates of food served. Enjoy this restaurant

    Good food, good Service

Loved it, nice outdoor seating, excellant dinner. Lamb with potato gratin was yummy, as was their special Smoked salmon with arugula salad. Nice wine list, good choices by the glass. Would def recommend, and will be back

No wonder why It's always empty !

Ok. I was wondering why Sullivan Bistro was the only restaurant always empty in the neighbourghood. So I tried... And immediately understood why. The food was pretty bad and the staff was EXTREMELY unpleasant.
