    Ok, but

The cupcakes are so yummy, but the people that work there need some serious attitude adjustment. Someone please give them a heads up because my boyfriend won't go there anymore because of their attitude. Loves the cupcakes though.

    Finally some decent Cake

I'm not going to lie I'm quite the fan of Magnolia and Buttercup but mostly for the Icing and not so much for their cake batter. But Sugar Sweet Sunshine has discovered the secret to quality cake batter. I have to admit I would enjoy a bit more frosting but that's the sweet tooth in me. Overall I was very satisfied and no line and a great atmosphere to chat with friends while channeling your inner childhood and love for sweets. I'll be coming back.

    You can find better elsewhere

I'm assuming the people who love Sugar Sweet Sunshine's cupcakes do so because of the nostalgia factor. They remind me of the first cupcakes I made from a Betty Crocker package with store-bought frosting. But I certainly didn't have the audacity to charge anyone $1.50 for them or call myself a baker. They have an unpleasant chemical taste. The frosting is less sweet than at Magnolia but it's also grainy. Overall they're just disappointing. Oh and the service is pretty indifferent too.

    Nothing Great

Tasted just like Sara Lee boxed cake mix and frosting (with a little margarine mixed in). Yes, I am a baker but I must add I've only been bakin for a few years and I am self taught. It's not as if I'm educated in the culinary arts! Also; we were waited on by a rude woman who we later found out was one of the owners! I was eager to try one of the chocolate chips that I had read about on the website until I saw them. They were in a jar all crumpled. Needless to say they looked anything but fresh.

    Awesome people

I have been here before, LOVED anything we have ever had. I def think they are better than other places and have seats to relax in while enjoying their great food. But last night they went above and beyond for us.. we tried to surprise a friend for his birthday with some cupcakes with candles and arranged to meet with some people after dinner. Well, dinner ran long and by the time we got there with our friend, they had closed! The above and beyond is that the wonderful ladies there let our 2 friends wait for us in the store about 20 minutes after they had closed! Its just proof that its a great neighborhood place with great people running it! And the truely awesome food doesn't hurt either!

    Much better than Magnolia

Sugar Sweet Sunshine stands out by offering a variety of exotic flavors where Mangolia offers very few. Sugar Sweet Sunshine's basic Buttercream cupcake is as good or better than Magnolia's. Sugar Sweet Sunshine variety of flavors: German Cake, Pumpkin, Lemon, etc are all excellent. Sugar Sweet Sunshine has FRIENDLY SERVICE plus NO LINE and SEATS you can sit down and eat your cupcake in. The atmosphere of Sugar Sweet Sunshine is like that of a cafe, with a LES feel. Missing from the atmosphere of Sugar Sweet Sunshine is the 'I just got off the train to Penn Station, someone please take my picture' vibe. The prices are also slightly more reasonable than Magnolia but basically the same ballpark. Sugar Sweet Sunshine is the true New Yorker's Magnolia.
