SO Good!
I ordered 2 dozen assorted cupcakes and a few brownies for a coworkers goodbye party. The Pistachio and Pumpkin were by far my fave, partly b/c they were really moist compared to the others. Plus the flavors were excellent! I couldn't get enough of them. I didn't have enough time to go down to the shop so they were able to provide delivery service which was $11 to midtown.

All 5's, my Favorite!
Sunshine is the absolute best dessert spot in the city. Not only is the cupcake selection the best (pistacio is my favorite) but the price is right and the atmosphere is cozy. Feels like the perfect spot to sit on the couch and chat with friends, sip a coffee and enjoy the LES. I take all my friends here, especially out-of-towners who are looking for just this image of NYC. A real treasure. Eat one there and take one to go, you wont regret it.

perfect cupcakes in a lovely atmosphere
My roommate and I are frequent customers at Sugar Sweet. The cupcakes are amazing...I have stood in line for Magnolia and eaten my way to a stomachache at Crumbs, but the cupcakes at SSS are moist, with a frosting that is neither overbearing nor too sweet. It's a perfect complement to the cake. I highly recommend the Bob and the Ooey Gooey, both with the chocolate frosting. Whereas some bakeries use a fudge-like frosting, SSS has found the ultimate balance of creaminess and sweet. The atmosphere is funky and fun, and the people who work there don't take their jobs, or themselves, too seriously. Perfect after a long day at the office.

Yum!
I just got my first two cupcakes from SSS, and let me tell you-- I'm in LOVE!! I've had Magnolia and thought they were yummy but dry-- the cake in these was SO moist and delicious! I can't comment on any of the frostings I didn't try, but the two I had were scrumptious, and not "too sweet. I had the pumpkin cupcake, and the cream cheese frosting was YUM. I also had the "Bob", which is a yellow cupcake with delicious almond chocolate frosting (don't let the almond part scare you- it's subtle and only makes it taste like, "mmm, that's a unique, yummy chocolate!"). I kept taking bites back and forth between the two because I couldn't decide which one I liked better. Absolutely delicious!!

The frosting was tooooooo sweet , my wife and I ending up removing most of it. They should not make it that sweet.

pretty good
I went there to pick up an order of cupcakes that I had requested to pick up at 12 noon. Not only were the cupcakes not ready but the two people that were working there were rude to me and gave me a serious attitude when I merely asked them for my order. And, on top of it all, I asked for red, white, and blue frosting and they gave me pink instead. It turns out that they don't do red frosting for small orders but they could have told me that instead of just giving me pink. After the order was sorted out, the cupcakes themselves were very good and the icing was good too. But I don't know if I would say that they're better than Buttercup. Anyway, they're worth a try as they are cheaper than both Magnolia and Buttercup.
