Great food- can't wait to go back

No reservation, but no wait. Small and windowless, but it is designed in a way that makes it not feel cramped. The food is incredible (sea scallop special was perfect) and the service was very friendly and attentive. The warm cornbread with bean dipping sauce that each table gets "from the chef" was a nice touch and realy delicious. I will definitely go back again and again.

    Yummm...Chili Tasting

We had sooo much fun with the tasting menu. Each course was quality ingredients and full of flavor! The portion sizes were actually more than what we're used to for a tasting menu...well worth the money. Our favorites Coconut-Habanero Shrimp Panucho, Plantain-Crusted halibut & Chxn Enchilada just melts in your mouth! Also very impressed with tequila selection (gotta try the Silver Dreams :) and pretty space. We'll definitely come back!

    Poor Food, Poor Value

When I saw the taco tasting menu prices I laughed, I am all about someone making a good profit but $35 for tacos?!!! I believe in paying for fine dining but Tacos does not fall into the category of $35 price levels for a place whose atmosphere is non-existent.

    Super bad deal

Dinner was tasteless. You pay per person for guacamole. Imagine that? The three taco appetizers were tiny, the size of my two year old's pinky. The shrimp dinner had no flavor. The service was poor. We left extemely disappointed. We do not recommend this place at all.

Should change name to "suenos malos"

From my own personal experience, and judging on the reviews of the previous people, I would say that Suenos is like so many NYC restaurants that used to be good, then popular, then became enebriated with its own success, forgot what made it successful, and is now wildy inconsistent or even poor. My own experience was poor. I'll spare you the details, but suffice it to say that the moment I got there, they treated me poorly (it was a busy night, and they made me feel like my standing there waiting for my table reservation 5 minutes early was a horrible inconvenience to them). The food that followed was mediocre (similar to stuff I usually cook at home in the microwave) and greatly overpriced. Maybe on some nights they're good and some nights they're bad (which the explain the wildly inconsistent reviews). But the bottom line is that NYC has far to many consistently good restaurants which haven't forgotten how they got there to take a chance on Suenos.

    i miss alley's end....

food and service quality at the price point didn't equate. typical chelsea attitude but in spanish. who needs that? for that we can go to mexico and have truly awesome food with genuinely warm people. over-rated for sure. was going to try the new place in the meatpacking district but won't bother now.
