Best in NY!
Best in NY (by far) and the service was great. I just returned from Italy and one sip brought me right back - it is that good. A friend had warned me it was like crack and she's right - I'm hooked.

one sip and it was love
my latte was nothing short of beautiful. it had a rich, full bodied flavor that almost reminded me of guinness, in a way. this is a really wonderful place for any coffee lover, and on top of that, the boys behind the counter look pretty adorable in their old-school outfits. my only complaint is that the line was a bit long when i went, but a slight wait is a small price to pay for such exceptional coffee. another plus is that the Ace Hotel lobby is incredibly homey and feels like a spacious, welcoming living room. i kind of want to live there...

Best. Macchiato. Ever.
One time in Venice I stopped into a no-name café and ordered a macchiato. That was the best espresso drink I've ever had. (I went back a few times.) The cafe macchiato at Stumptown is the best I've ever had outside Italy. It's rich, unbelievably good and incredibly smooth. I left there floating on air.
