    Can't beat 3 for $5

So I'm going to start off by saying I was hesitant starting my order with the Sweet Potato Pie cannoli they showcased this Saturday. The guy working there told me he just made it and was getting into the holiday spirit.. so on that note I had to try it. Tiny pieces of pecans topped with a dash of maple syrup only made my mouth water a little more and so I began my tasting. Wow! Great way to start my first cannolo at this place. I then ordered the Coco Loco which looked awesome with coconut flakes on the shell and was topped with almonds and it was an excellent choice because I love coconut. To finish I had the Peanut Butter Cup and that just brought my appreciation for this place up ten notches. I'm glad I know where this place is.

    Very Cool Cannoli

3 for $5.00 is not so bad in this overpriced city. Ducle de Leche was amazing along with there Coco Loco and Cappuccino. I will definitely be back for more. Very cool concept.

Some Great, Some not so much..

After hearing great things about the new Stuffed Cannolis place on Stanton street, I decided to bring a friend along for a visit. The place is even more spacious than I expected for a little Lower East side shop. But it was a little strange - there wasn't much seating at all. It looks like they left a bunch of room for tables and chairs that have yet to arrive. It's possible, since they've only been open a few months. The guy who works there is really nice, and gave me a taste-test of two of the flavors, that he had just made. Unfortunately, a lot of the cannoli flavors that I was expecting to love - they fell way short. I purchased a box of 10, and basically tried every flavor that they offered for the day. I wound up loving the most basic - the original! I almost didn't even buy an original because that would make me a pretty boring human being. But the original is their strongest cannoli, by leaps and bounds. The other flavor that was excellent - birthday cake. Pistachio and french toast were not bad. Apple pie and pumpkin pie were ok, although I wouldn't buy the fruit flavors again. Let me tell you what was not so great, and lacked any real flavor - Nutella and Almond Joy. They sound so good - which makes things very tricky. Trust me, they are not! But the worst flavor was the mint chocolate chip. This was the flavor I was most excited about, and it honestly takes like mint toothpaste. I spit out the mint choc. chip cannoli! So did my friend! We were shocked. I felt like I had just suffered through a trip to the dentist. I would return one day in the future, and buy a box of original and birthday cake cannolis. And I would like to try a few of the flavors that they didn't have that day, like root beer and key lime pie. Unfortunately, these cannolis are hit or miss. And they are not cheap - so you don't want to be ordering flavors that are misses. I wish they would work on perfecting some of the flavors, because then I would be back more often.
