I've been to a number of the heavy hitting steakhouses, and no cut of meat compares to the NY Strip at Strip House. Salty and lightly charred on the outside, perfectly tender on the inside...amazing. In addition, the goose fat potato side dish is incredible. Appetizers and desserts are good too. Come here when you want to eat like a king.

The atmosphere and food were very good, but they HAPPENED to miss us when they gave out there complimentary melon shots (which was VERY disappointing, because it felt like all the kids were getting invitations except us!) But other than that everything was good.

We had a 9:30 reservation. we arroved at 9:25 and was told by the manager that they have us down for 10pm and without apology told us to wait at the bar. He also told me they're still seating people from 9pm. My waitress took 10 minutes to come and ask what kind of water we want, and left before asking if we wanted any other drinks. After we ordered our food we did not see our waitress until she brought the check, well, we saw he standing in a corner talking with the bus boys, so it's not like she was busy. The food, was excellent, but hey it's a steak and this is america, you can get a steak that good at a million different restaurants in manhattan. The bar was crowded although around 10ish it started to empty. The restaurant is small, some of the tables are right next to the bar, almost in a crowd, but i luckily sat right in front of the kitchen, my guess is that's because I was rude to the manager after having the wrong reservation and not even apologizing. I wouldn't go back.

We got there at 6:30pm on a Thursday, right before Prime Time, and were in and out in an hour. The oysters special were eh. The strip steak was okay, but the 14oz Filet Mignon was very good. The sides, although quite small, were reason enough to go: The Black Truffle Cream Spinach had me moaning. If it were a little less of a nice restaurant, I would have licked the bowl clean. The Crisp Goose Fat Potatoes were rich, origional, and melted in my mouth. The Tahitian Vanilla Creme Bruele may have been the best I've ever had. The service was prompt and on the ball, almost too much so. Very accomodating and professional. The room it's self is tre' chiq, although a wee too close for comfort. Truth be told, everything was good, very good (except the oysters) but for some reason, I wasn't blown away, and for the price, I should have been.

Delicious steaks. We tried the bone in ribeye and filet with an assortment of sauces. Bearnaise was our favorite. Sides definitely could be better. Wine list was reasonable with some great choices. Didn't have room for dessert, though they looked great. Service on the other hand, dissappointing for the price. We poured our own wine, the waiter was not readily available, or very personable. Little things that should be there when you spend close to $100 per person. I could see that the waiter probably had more tables than he could handle. So it won't stop me from dining here again.

My review title pretty much says it all. The mashed potatoes were bland; creamed corn good, but not special and the truffled spinach...well..truffled. Why ruin a good thing? The steaks were first class and the service always friendly, but not as available as I would have liked.

My girlfriend and I went here and we were both impressed. We both had the strip steak, with goose fat potatoes and creamed spinach. Everything was delicious. We were seated promptly, but the seats were on top of eachother. Next time, I will request a better seat when making a reservation. We had the creme brule and a banana tart desert, both were fantastic. If you want a great steak minus the braindead waiters, horrible atmosphere you see at so many NYC steakhouses, this may be worth a shot. Highly recommended.
