STK is a trendy steakhouse with great food. It is a bit expensive but you pay for the atmosphere as well as the quality of the food. The service was excellent, the steak was outstanding, one of the best I've ever eaten.

Insane prices for the overall experience. Too loud to hear across the table to each other. Too hot to sit comfortably and enjoy your meal. Long wait for drinks. My friend's steak came out very well done but wasn't ordered that way. While it was graciously taken back by our waitress, the replacement was not of the same quality- all fat. It could be a fun night out if you don't mind seriously overpaying and yelling while you eat.

Excellent restaurant. However, patrons need to go into the experience with an open mind. If you are expecting a hardcore manly steakhouse, that is not what you will get here. Instead, you will find a people filled, trendy steakhouse that features traditional steakhouse items with a flair. It is the steakhouse that has a major nightclub influence and is inflitrated with those hitting the meatpacking district after dinner. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Even if you do not plan on going for dinner it is a wonderful pre-nightclub watering hole for the young and fabulous...

Food that they had (ran out of porterhouses, c'mon!) was really good, service when they showed up (waited 20 minutes after a request) was really poor. Might be good for bachelorette parties (place was a bit, um, girly) or those who are not true steak fans, Would take others over this place in a heartbeat. Sorry STK.

Upon arrival at 8:30PM, the restaurant is packed and so is the bar. We had 9:15 reservations and were seated right on time. The place has a great vibe and a mix of parties at tables of 2 people to 10 people and average age being late 20s to mid 40s. Appetizers we had were the tuna tartar and the crabmeat. Both large portions. We both then had the bass and sides of asparagus and creamed spinach. The food was not amazing steakhouse quality, but very good. The wait staff was attentive and nice as well. After dinner, we went down to the bar Tenjune which was just a scene and so fun. It does not open until 11:30PM, so do not bother trying before that. The bar at STK was jammed though and there are lounges opening upstairs soon. I would return for a great night very soon.

STK doesn't measure up to classic NY steakhouses. They were out of 2 sides, our first round of drinks was dropped by waiter. 2nd round took half hour to arrive. Even asking for salt at the start of our meal arrived near the end. Steaks were good, but they were out of 24 oz. porterhouse. What kind of steakhouse runs out of steaks?! I'm not going back anytime soon, not with the Old Homestead a block away. On the positive side, steaks were good and so was other food we ordered and prices were reasonable. Service needs to improve dramatically and so does inventory management.
