Not recommended
I was no happy with my experience here. The service was awful. The waitress cleary had no idea about the menu and when she first walked over she did not even great us she said "Do you know what you want" felt like I was at a Denny's. The food was below average, but very large plates which is odd considering this place calls themselves "tapas". With all the great italian places here in the city I would never come back to this place again for bad service and below par food.

Brilliant!
Delivers for a foodie, hops and spirits lover or even the dreaded oenophile. I had stopped by Stecchino weeks ago. The bar is so great, long and rambling, and we tried to finagle two seats but no luck. The staff there did everything they could to try to help us out and on that alone, when we walked out, we knew we would be back. So I went with 3 of my girlfriends last night and we were not disappointed. We got 4 seats at the end of the bar (best seats ever) and James (bartender) took excellent care of us. Not to sound snobby, but Yellowtail is not my thing so a killer wine list is a must. I was very impressed with their list. Their Willamette Pinot Noir was divine and later, with the Ahi Tuna I had (5 stars), I switched to a beautiful Italian white from the Lambardy region. BOTH wines were excellent and the food was fantastic! My girlfriends had the Lobster Ravioli and the Grilled Sirloin Mixed Green Salad. Portions are nice and big and their entire menu leaves you pondering...it was hard to make a decision. The vibe there (the most important factor, in my opinion) is mellow, friendly, and had that great "after work" exhale feel. There are lots of tables in the front of the restaurant by the open doors and windows and all the way to the back. Everything about Stecchino screams class. I cannot wait to go back. Yes, please!

Awesome Italian food
Dinner for two was an amazing experience. I did not expect this place to be as good as it turned out. We started off with a diet coke and a Julius Echter, followed by Bruschettas, which were amongst the best I have ever had. Two pieces on one plate, with a charcoal-ly taste and great garnishing with herbs. Since we were not terribly hungry, we went for a pizza. We ordered a margharita with toppings of cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and caramalized onions. It is amazing how so many places can screw up pizzas as simple as this. These guys didn't. Again, the presentation and the taste were both amazing. Service was good, and the servers nice. The bar was lively and chilled out with servers chatting with customers. Meal for two for $45 (incl our choices of toppings and the beer). Highly recommended. Will definitely go back.

A great experience
Stecchino was a lot of fun. I went recently and sat at the bar and enjoyed some of the classic cocktails which were delicious. I had the bruschetta and it was amazing! They have a great happy hour ($5 wine and beer!) and the servers were all very friendly even to those of us sitting at the bar. All of the staff was very knowledgeable. I will definitely be back!

Dont bother
This was possibly the worst dining experience I have encountered in NYC ever. The food was really terrible, the staff aren't trained to be waiting on people, and the bar smells of old beer. It felt as if the staff here have never worked in a restaurant before. There are so many restaurants in Hells Kitchen and this is one to be avoided.

Great brunch spot
We enjoyed a lovely brunch on New Year's day without feeling cramped or rushed. The food was quite good (I had the spinach benedict) and my husband had the scrambled eggs with gruyere, spinach, and fresh tomatoes. We had home fries on the side and coffee. All were very good and the service was great! We had a female server, whose name I don't recall but she was great! I would def. go back again!

Nice casual date place
I recently went to Stecchino with my boyfriend for a light after-concert meal and some drinks and had a great time. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. Plus, since we went after 11pm it was late night happy hour, so there were some drink deals ($5 for any microbrew pint isn't fabulous, but beats full price). The staff was very nice and attentive. In fact, once they found out it was our anniversary they brought us a complimentary dessert platter. Very thoughtful and much appreciated! The place is more of a bar than a restaurant, but I would definitely come here again for a casual bite. Looking forward to trying out the classic cocktails!
