Disappointed
The restaurant was recommended to me so I was looking forward to going. However I was disappointed in the dinner. I did have the sesame crusted calamari which were good, however the spiced sauce that accompanied it was not spicy at all. Before I ordered the Brazzini I asked the waiter if this was a good item on the menu and he said yes. Again I was disappointed, the fish was over cooked (dry) and tasteless and the jamboylaya rice was also tasteless. A very disappointed evening as far as the food, but the view was wonderful.

A Meal with A View
Tried Steamers Landing after reading menupages reviews. It was a short walk from our hotel The Embassy Suites and we wanted somewhere we'd remember on our last night in NY before returning to London. Not very busy on a Wednesday evening, so lacking a bit in atmosphere, however the stunning view of New Jersey at night across the river made up for this. We started with sesame crusted calamari - a small portion between two which was ample and very fresh. Next we both had a seared salmon steak with tuscan beans - very well cooked and full of flavour. I tried the hot Bourbon Bread pudding with bourbon sauce and vanilla icecream which was highly calorific and delicious, while my dining partner had the raspberry cheesecake with raspberry sauce, about which she was equally enthusiastic. A lovely way to end our short break in NY - hope to visit again soon and so should you.

We WIN!
NYC Wins with this great spot. Call it good timing. The Giants beat the Cowboys, the 3 Queens sailed by under fireworks, my sister celebated her bday, and I tasted the best seafood I have tasted in a long time. The crabcakes were great as well as the calamari (very crunchy). The best seafood linguine. The hangar steak was great. Definitely not to be missed.

great summer venue
Went to steamers landing on Saturday, was very pleasantly surprized! Not a "fancy" place but nice, the view is outstanding. We sat outside and had a great evening. The escargot was truly delicious and the rest of the food was good, not great. The setting makes it a special dining experience.

Much Better Than Expected
My boyfriend & I have lived in the area for about a year now. We pass by this restaurant everyday and just never ate here. In general, restaurants in the area are subpar due to no competition. We finally decided to eat here. We made reservations today and got them for a great time. We were promptly seated when we arrived. Our waiter was pretty attentive and made good recommendations. We got the special app. for the evening (shrimp & guac). It was OK. For our entrees we got another special, the swordfish, and the crabcakes. Both were wonderful. The crabcakes had huge pieces of crab in them, and the sauce on the swordfish went perfectly with it. And, their sangria was nice and strong. I'm not going to say that this was the best dinner we have had, especially for the prices, but for the area, and the fact that we got to watch the sun go, down, it was pretty good. We will probably go back.

A favorite!
This is one of my favorite summertime haunts, situated right next to the river. I come with friends and colleagues for cocktails. I especially love their properly-served martinis. They give you your very own little martini shaker--on ice--and a glass of a smaller, more civilized size than is usually offered. It's lovely to sit and enjoy the river from the patio outside the entrance, a few steps up from the promenade, where it's leafy and cool even on the hottest night. The staff and guests are friendly, and the food is good, with an appropriate emphasis on seafood. They have a nice selection of appetizers if you're just there for cocktails. The interior of the restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming, and if you walk through, you'll find more outdoor seating that's secluded and charming in summer. People always seem to be relaxed and having a good time at Steamers.
