I've had my fair share of pierogies and such, and this place rocks! my mom used to own an eastern european restaurant and i know my stuff :) Their burgers and other standard diner fare are great, and the prices are excellent. It is small, and only has a counter space, but the service is fast and I love going there to chat or for take-out. It's next to STOMP theater but don't miss this place!!

I've been to Stage 3 times, and it is consistently good. This isn't 5 star healthy cooking by any means, but you get exactly the huge greasy portions you'd expect from a great diner, and for an unbelievable price. For $6.50 I got eggs, two slices of buttered toast, corned beef hash, home style potatoes, sausage, tea, and water. Where else in Manhattan can you find a deal like that? I only wish they had later hours and a dozen more stools. The service is good and they have yet to mess up the somewhat long lists of food and side dishes my friends and I have ordered. Sometimes you have to ask for drink refills and they are always happy to do so. You can tell the cooks put a lot of care into cooking as they stretches and flattens each piece of bacon individually so it cooks evenly. I almost didn't want to give this place a review as it can be hard to find an empty stool in this tiny diner during busy hours, but they deserve the praise.

Aside from the crippling, ergonomically disasterous relationship between the counter and the stools, this place has everything to recommend. I've eaten there for two decades, and never had a bad breakfast, lunch, or dinner there. The food is always fresh, the place kept meticulously clean, the staff friendly, and the food really IS good, home cooking. I hope that if they ever make it comfortable to sit there, that the food doesn't change at all.

The food was great, the service was fasr, the employees very friendly, but the cheesecake was to die for. They should take orders to have their cheesecake shipped.

Their egg sandwich is the best hangover cure in the East Village.

I absolutely love this place. Over my eleven day vacation to the Big Apple, this was hands down the best find of the trip. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was classic old-school NY, the breakfast food was awesome, and the price was dirt cheap. I'll be back...

The best pierogies in town, unless my Aunt Sophie invites you to her house! So good!
