The BEST !
I have been eating here for several years now. Their Breakfast is amazing. Eggs, bacon , Pancakes. Simply the best anywhere in the world. Chester their Chef should be on TV. He is a food artist behind the counter. Handling so many orders and never messing up. Their Baked Porkchops and Chicken cultets for dinner are the best in New York City.

A Terrific place to eat
This is truly one of the last great places to eat in Manhattan. The food is fresh, home made, and delicious. The value is excellent. The folks there are down to earth and it is "all about the food". The sides of either rice, beets, potatoes with gravy are terrific. Even though you have to sit on stools at the counter, the experience is worth it and take out is also an option. If you are one of those types of people who have been spending $100 or more for a dinner for two, you need to try this place. We had dinner that cost us about $25.00 for two people and that included several soft drinks. Enjoy food cooked by nice people who serve up a fare that crosses the European ethnic boundaries and will be appreciated by everyone. You will not leave hungrey or disappointed. The daily specials are particularly tasty. Even the worst food/restaurant snob will find this unpretentious "hole in the wall" a welcome addition to their eating out venue. Quite frankly, the restaurant should become an official landmark of NYC for keeping it as real as it gets. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner will be appreciated. The chicken a la King or Beef stroganoff served over a bed of rice with any choice of great sides should not be missed. And there are so many other great dishes to satisfy everyone's preferences.

favorite diner ever
I grew up in Jersey, practially living off diner food. This the best value and best diner-food I've ever had. 2nd place is not close. The highly regarded and vastly overrated Veselka's (poor service) is only a few doors down, but The Stage upstages it in every facet except legroom. The service appreciates your business, but it's the food that has made me a regular. When you eat at this cramped little place (or takeout), within one bite you'll know there's some 65 year-old Polish grandma in the back laboring over a hot stove instead of a sweaty grunt-worker featured in most restaurants. At dinner order the combo and get a taste of everything that is Polish diner dining.

This place can't be upSTAGEd!
This place is all around fantastic. The food is absolutely delicious, as i have never had a bad meal here. The Potato Pierogis with choice of sour cream, apple sauce, or sweet onions is my favorite. The men and women behind the counter are quite friendly and add to the awesome atmosphere, an atmosphere that at makes this joint one of the best places to eat in NYC.
