excellent corn beef
great deli food, corn beef, fries. good prices. side dishes are a little $. other than that - I'm a local and I think its great !

A late Breakfast
The four of us got there just after one pm.Seated right away.A very extensive menu.Three of us had breakfast the a other a sandwich.The servive was very good.We were not rushed after we ate.Its more of a diner but it was worth the stop.Bathroom could have used a little more attention.Yes i would go back.

disappointed
I had looked forward to eating here. Went hoping to get an early lunch, had to settle for breakfast. Seated clear in the back because I was alone. VERY poor service--nearly forgotten. Came back later in the day in hopes of better service. Seated nicely when a larger party came in and was moved again to the back. OK service at first until some cute young girls came in, they were waited on quickly, I was again nearly forgotten by waiters. Food was very good however, service was TERRIBLE.

The best service in town!
One of the cleanest restaurants and best wait staff around!! The pastrami sandwich is top notch. Cole slaw and potato salad are deeelicious! George the GM is one of the nicest and friendliest person around. He takes care of his customers and always makes sure they are happy. Stage Door is the best in town!

Great place in NYC
The restaurant was clean and the wait staff were friendly. We were seated right away and had a window seat, which was fun. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. I will definitely eat here again during my next visit to NYC!

Saved my trip!
On my visit to NYC, the Stage Door was an oasis in a desert of over-priced fast food. Very reasonable prices, generously-sized servings. I notice that some people have had bad luck with the service: I had the opposite. Staff was courteous & fast, very receptive to us and our needs. Street-level windows offer a pleasing view of a NY street (33rd?), Madison Square Garden, sunsets & subways. Nothing spectacular, but very VERY memorable view. Can't wait for my next trip to NYC: Stage Door, I miss you!
