Unfriendly staff with average food
The food is average but the cost is not. We paid over $30 for 2 people and only ordered 2 sandwiches with drinks. The waitress was unfriendly. Thought maybe she was just having a bad day but all the staff seemed to have the same attitude. The only good aspect of this deli is it is a good place for people watching but not worth the cost.

Mounds of Meat!
OMG! Piles of deli meat and the best swiss I've ever eaten! Service is a little slow, but the food was GREAT, and the portions were unbelievable! Four of us could've shared one plate for lunch! Oh, yeah...must try the pickles!

Great pastrami!
We went here after horrendous service at the Carnegie Deli and I'm pleased we did! Mountains of gorgeous pastrami, even with the extra bread it was way too much for two. Love the mustard and pickles too - we'll be back!

Classic NYC Deli
You have to get the Pastrami Ruben. High prices, poor service, and everything else you would expect from a famous deli in NYC. After you eat the Pastrami Ruben it will all be worth it!

Great food, a bit pricey, but a must-see
I've spent the last two summers in NYC and I will be there again this summer and the Stage Deli is a weekly stop for me. To rebut what previous users have said, the food here is great...you just need to know what to order. You don't go to a famed NYC deli and order a 3-cheese omelette and a garden salad. Order their cheesecake and carrot cake (undoubtedly the best I've ever had - every time!) or order a pastrami/corned beef/tongue sandwhich and you'll greatly enjoy your meal! If you're a student like me, sit at the bar for some good times.

Overpriced, with maybe average food...
Had a plain three cheese omelette, with fries and the complimentary pickles. There is a $10 minimum per person, and if you order anything you will certainly hit it. For the two of us with a basic order of the omelette and a small garden salad, our total was over 30, and the quality was not significant. Wouldn't go back again.

Disappointment
What a let down. After hearing all the hype about this place about 10 of us from Toronto gave it a try. Most of us were disappointed. My pastrami was full of fat and grisle, was too big and way overpriced. The only positive thing was the fantastic pickles.
