We were most disapointed on our first visit to this Deli. Although the meat in the sandwich was one and one half inches thick, as it should be at 12.95, the bread was cut so thin it crumbled in our hands. The bread was also stale. In this day and age how can a restaurant NOT have cream for your coffee? Our piece of cheese cake was dry.

We have been to NYC 3 times and always make sure that we hit the Stage Deli. My biggest recommendation for the place is to share your dinner then share your dessert. The portions are so big that you will never have room for dessert if you eat a whole dinner by yourself. The cheesecake and brownie sundae were excellent as were the ruben sandwiches.

Read about the deli and saw it on tv and just had to see it for ourselves.wasn't disappointed! Portions are huge and quality excellent. People opposite wanted to order a salad and a sandwich but were advised by their waiter that perhaps they should share the salad first before ordering the sandwich as the portions were so big. I thought that was excellent service. When i got back home to wales i couldn't wait to recommend it to a friend who's visiting new york this week. Will definitely go back on my next visit as the menu is so tempting.

If the food is what matters, this is the place for you! I ate here 3 times during my trip. It was very good, service was great. A little expensive (not used to $20 sandwhiches) but apparently that's normal here! Definitely would return!

I loved my pastrami, but the pickles while free, were absolutely bland and flavorless. I found that to be a big surprise and a disappointment. Am I missing something?

This deli makes you feel very comfortable. If i lived in New York i would make sure i go there first thing in the morning every morning. The atmosphere is great, i feel like i could just get away from the busy life and relax. I really enjoyed their cheese blintze - they are phenomonal! Hope to stop by again soon!

After viewing the sandwiches on other diner's plates, we chose to have omelets and fries. The sandwiches we saw were too big, erring on the side of grotesque and watching people shove them into their mouths was unpleasant to say the least. The omelets ($12.95) were super and the fries were not greasy and the entree came with toast or bagel. Our waitress was friendly, despite the hectic Saturday evening pace. The menu is not posted on the outside of the building which was a shame as several parties sat down only to review the selections/prices and leave - creating more work for the wait staff to straighten the table and seat another patron. We would return, definitely for omelets and maybe coffee & dessert.
