I was in NYC a year ago and one of the places I ate at was the Stage Deli. We had the table at the front corner where we could see all the street activity. What an experience. I absolutely love this place. What atmosphere. I refer this terrific deli to everyone I know who is going to NYC. When I get to visit NYC again the Stage Deli will be one of the places on my "to do" list.

If you can catch the food they throw at you- it's quite good. They will bring you your check long before you have finished your meal in the hopes that you will leave quicker. Very expensive. My bagel was not great but apparently the pastrami is worth it.

The worlds best chopped liver...been going to the Stage for over 35 years and they never dissapoint....not as pricey as some think..the sandwiches are so big that they feed two people. Wait staff was cordial and they made my wife's birthday special with a birthday cheesecake.

The Stage Deli was a wonderful place to eat. The food was incredible and worth the price. It was a little expensive (a grilled cheese and french fries was $16), but the quality of the food was excellent. The service was good too. This wouldn't be a good place if you're looking for a restaurant where you can have a romantic meal in the corner, its a little noisy. Overall, we were pleased with the Stage Deli.

The food here is amazing!!! It offers such huge portions and the food is outstanding! Although it offers regular sandwhichs and burgers they are served with giant fries and pickes and coleslaw....I can't even fit a whole burger in my mouth! I love it!

I was at the Stage Deli with Evil Ninja Tracy (see review below). Sure, the place is packed with tourists, and it's expensive as heck and not really a good value, but I have to say that I had a great time sitting at the bar and talking to the bartender, the manager, and other patrons from England and Brooklyn (the guy from Brooklyn comes regularly to The Stage). Evil and I ordered lots of Brooklyn Lager along with our sandwiches, and the total bill was almost 90 bucks, but we didn't care about that because we loved the experience. The bartender recommended the Rudy Giuliani hero, and that's what I ordered, and it was really great. I could only eat half of it and got the other half to go, which Evil and I devoured later that night after going to see a show. Bottom line: The Stage is not a very good value (you can get the same sandwiches elsewhere for half the price), but the food is excellent. If you go, sit at the bar. Believe me, you will be entertained!

WOW!! The food here is great...love the pickles!! Ended up here because we were starved from looking at so many places and not being able to make up our minds. Glad we made this choice. The menu and the atmosphere is really fun....and it's not just a tourist trap. The food is awesome. We sat at the bar and the folks were friendly and chatty. While I were there I encountered several people from the area just for the food. One guy lives in Jersey and another couple lives in Massachusetts and they all came to The Stage Deli because they had been before and loved the food. It's a bit expensive (I payed $15 for a burger) but it's worth the quality and the experience. Oh, and make sure you are REALLY hungry when you go. The portions are HUGE!!
