Solid Pub
The food is a bit expensive and solid pub food. Great smoked salmon app and a big portion. Good beer selection. Everything is a tad pricey but the staff is super obliging and super friendly especially the manager.

Not a frat hangout
UWS loaded with Frat bars & food places but this spot is a welcomed find for a little quieter hangout with great pub grub! Best nachos around especially at any Irish Pub!

Not reccommended!
We tried this place because it didn't seem like the usual college bar on the street, but the food is very mediocre and way overpriced.

Gimme Gimme
Great atmosphere. Cozy, but not a dive; dark, but not dank. I find the menu to be a little overpriced, given that the food is just glorified pub grub. The wait staff could be a little warmer, too.

Very nice neighborhood eatery
I come to NYC from Florida every 2/3 months and I don't leave the city until I have eaten at St James Gate. I was there recently with my sister and her family who were from California celebrating her birthday in the Big Apple. I told them about this eatery/pub and so they wanted to try it. As always I could depend on both the bartender's hospitality and service and the chef's delicious appetizers and entree's. The presentation of each dish invited you to take a bite and when you did you were not dissapointed! The beers were good too, nice and cold! This is a very nice neighborhood eatery/pub!

Those stairs!
Stopped in for drinks and sat at the bar. Drinks were good - not too strong or weak. Service was quick. Bathrooms were clean. But why oh why do they put all those weird stair combinations at the side entrance? One step down, then two steps down, then two steps up... are they trying to make us trip after drinking at the bar!?
