It is the greatest Thai food in NYC
Agreed with the previous review. You don't get Pad Thai here, in fact I have a habit of making fun of people who order it in a nice Thai place. The watercress salad is a go to, the whole fish is excellent, I like the fried pork belly, and the offal soup which is very spicy and delish. The outside patio is really beautiful in warmer days.

Anybody who doesn't like this place is an idiot
The pad thai isn't what you want to get here! If you want pad thai, go to the place on your corner, it's the same (give or take) everywhere in the city. If you've left manhattan or brooklyn to come get what you've heard is the best thai food in the city (and it is), don't cop out and get the ol' standby. Get the watercress salad, the minced pork, the frog legs, any of the soft shell crab dishes, go big or go home, and it's cheap so order as much as you want. The service is... on certain occasions less than accommodating. But that's mostly when you arrive right before they close and take too long to order. The decor inside is fine; not romantic by any means. However, during the summer, the courtyard in the back is very very nice.

not good food...
we have always heard that Sripraphai had the "best Thai " food in all of New York, so you can imagine our collective disappoinment when we ate there. My family and I ordered 4 different entries and each one was more disappointing than the other. The pad thai was especially sweet to the point of almost being inedible. To top it off, the restaurant was a "B" from the health department. You were warned. Sripraphai was a disappointment.

Best Thai in NYC
Now, I'm sure that you might hear the moniker "best ___ in NYC" thrown around a lot, and it's not one that I use lightly. But, with Sripraphai, you cannot call it anything else! Hands down the best Thai food that I've ever eaten. Get the curry puffs, and try out the desserts in the fridges by the entrance. And if it's a nice day out, sit on the back patio!
