    happy hour

Great beer selection and great prices, odd service but it did not matter and the strangest fries ever. Tasted liked smoked fire and potato. Nevertheless a great experience and worth another hour hour visit.

    Great beer, nice atmosphere!

I’ve been at Spitzer’s Corner couple of times, and I just love the place. I keep coming back there in an attempt to try all the beers they serve (no need to say I’m a huge beer fan I guess). The happy hour is a killer - $3 brews until 7pm. The food is great, and the bartenders/ servers are very sweet and attentive. I don’t know why some people pick up so much on the service at Spitzer’s Corner. After all it’s a bar, not a Park Ave restaurant. There is just one thing that’s kind of annoying – they card me and my friends (who are thirty-something years old)every single time we order drinks. Well, maybe that’s the way it should be! Overall great place and great experience!

    not too impressed

Maybe it was because it was 9:00pm on St. Patrick's Day, and PACKED with people there both for dinner and drinking, but the service we got was a disappointment. We were shoved in a hidden corner of the restaurant, our waitress seemed to keep forgetting about us (probably because she couldn't see us). Getting her attention was only the beginning of our problems. We asked the waitress and numerous bus boys to bring us water many times, and it did not arrive until we were finishing our meal. One of our dishes never showed up. When we told our waitress to forget about it, that we were full and trying to get on our way, she brought it anyway (against our request) and we ended up having to pay for it, even though we cancelled the order. Ugh. She was sweet and eager to please, but it did not make up for all the mistakes of the night. On the up-side the food that we did receive was good and well-priced. The beer menu looked fabulous, too bad we were too annoyed with the service to want to try anything.

    Beer... and the BEST brunch

I had never been to Spitzer's for anything more than to enjoy their impressive selection of beers... in and of itself, a reason to go. Today, however, I had their brunch... I ordered the short rib burger with a fried egg, bacon, and cheddar - incredible. I also noticed the bacon they used was my favorite Applewood smoked from North Country smokehouse - just goes to show the thought the chef puts into their ingredient selection. Beyond that, the french toast with apple was stellar - soaked with egg just enough to provide some density while maintaining the fluffy texture of the brioche. The vegetable omelet was not really my thing, but as far as omelets with just vegetable go, was extremely good. We also had a side of fries which were lightly spiced, with the perfect amount of crunch. The bloody marys ordered by two in our party were like none we'd every had - pale red, as though the tomato had been freshly crushed, and with an excellent horseradish and pepper finish. In all, this brunch was simply one the finest in all of New York, and to top it off, was priced very reasonably. 5 stars.

    Favorite brunch place in LES

Stumbled upon Spitzers a couple of months ago and it's my favorite brunch place. My friend said the french toast is the "best I ever had." The short rib burger is excellent. The service is top notch as well - they are constantly refilling the coffee which can be dangerous. We don't drink so can't comment on their huge selection of alcohol...

More than a neighborhood beer bar

Spitzer's is a great find on the lower east side - the beer selection is great (and evolving), the food is excellent for a bar of its type and the atmosphere is very relaxed. It's a great hangout, and I recommend it to everyone!

burger good place used to be cooler...

burger is great... huge beer selection, but the place was more fun when it first opened. now they are a pain about where you sit and it killed the vibe. also service has always been subpar.
