Took friends there & yes we loved the food and luckily had an early reservation, but they made people after us ( and everyone else ) wait forever. Usually restaurants have a 2 1/2 hour table turnover, not here. They owners need to change up the service & "flow" of the kitchen, and only then it can be a true GEM on the Upper East.....

Cannot stop thinking about how delicious the food was. All three of us were licking our plates. The gnocchi was like nothing i've ever experienced and the people are so nice.

Went to Spigolo on Saturday night and sat inside with my boyfriend. We decided to get the tasting menu and it was out of this world. the halibut, octopus and the special for the night-chicken liver was mouth watering-I can't stop thinking about it. The service was wonderful and the wine was paired great with the courses. We enjoyed our meal for 2 hours at Spigolo and never felt we were being rushed or pushed aside-which can happen on saturday nights in the city. I would suggest this restaurant to everyone. It was honest, delicious cuisine and you could taste the love the entire kitchen put into the food. I can't wait to go back. Be sure to make reservations!

The food was ok, service was ok, and the restaurant while cute and cozy but was too cramped...every 5 minutes i was getting bumped into by a server of another table! i asked for a wine recomendation from the maitre de and she knew was not knowledgable about the wine list.

I've dined several times at the bar and wish I could be a regular (sometimes it's just too crowded). Great selection of world wines by the glass (focus on Italy) generously poured. It's refreshing to see more traditional Italian food, simply prepared and presented, in a neighborhood drenched in marinara sauce. I'm so sick of "fried galamad". Their menu changes with seasonal ingredients. Chat up the warm staff to find out what's good.

The salads are made fresh. The shrimp with orzo is wonderful. The waitresses and hostess are lovely and accommodating. The chicken is ok. The soups are favorful. I hestiate to say good things because it is impossible to get in last minute. It is worth it, though, to be persistent. The negative reviews below are so off base. Thanks to Heather and Scott we have a great restaurant.

A wonderful way to spend Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. A beautiful, intimate restaurant with gracious service and delicious food. The crab ravioli were great (we could have eaten several plates of them!) and my striped bass with cauliflower puree & tomato was one of the best pairing of flavors I've ever had. Save room for the chocolate souffle if they have it - out of this world! If they don't, the bomboloni were fantastic too.
