I called for a reservation 2 1/2 weeks ago and was told I could only get 6 or 9:30 pm.. They called to confirm 2 days ago and the message was loud and clear that since my reservation was at 6 we should be out by 8 for the next group!!! When we arrived, the place was not very full. I asked for a specific table away from the cold door and was told they needed it for a party of 4. Once the people were all seated at that table, they were parties of 2! My friend order a "glass" of Chianti and was told when they were about to pour that it was $17 per glass. The food is good but not exceptional. I don't know what they think they have there. You wouldn't believe it from this review but I am not one to complain!!

There are not too many 4-5 star places on the Upper East Side (70s and up) that are worth a special trp, but this is one of them. My husband and I have been here about 4 times, it;s really a treat. The atmosphere is cosy, the place seats only about 30-35 people. Nice hosts, waitstaff--but the food is really unique and terrific! They have a sheep's milk ricotta gnochi that is so unique and delicious it's worth a double portion. Great fish dishes, too. We've taken friends & out-of-towners here and they all love it! You have to reserve a bit in advance, especially on weekends. It's also on the pricey side, but for a nice dinner out, it's worth it!

I went here with a friend & the food was truly excellent. We also had a very helpful waiter. Our reservation was for 5:30 - which was fine, but I felt soooooooo rushed throughout the meal. The pace reminds me McDonalds. After we had finished, my friend & I were chatting, frankly we were about to leave anyway, the hostess / manager arrived & said " Our next table is here, could you please take care of the bill." I thought it was so rude.... It is not as though we lingered for 3 hours or something. We were not even in the table for 90 minutes!

This is a small, delightful, good restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was great. Even the desert was fabulous. A lot of the restaurants on 2nd Ave are just cute little mediocre restaruants. This was such a great surprise. I would definitely recommend trying it.

I found the place too crowed, portions too small, prices to high, taste okay. Waited months for a reservations, would not return.

My wife and I ate recently at Spigolo along with another couple. The risotto appetizer was terrific, as was the fig and proscuitto salad. But our main courses, veal breast and salmon, were uninspired, as was a chocolate dessert. Our companions had the same reaction. And it took at least 45 minutes after we finished our appetizers before the main courses appeared. The prices seemed high relative to the atmosphere, food, and service.

I am Italian, born and raised there. I found Spigolo very good. We had the tasting menu and we loved every single dish... I highly recommend it!
