Such a special place. I am not sure that there is anything else like it in the city. I cant believe that this place is actually in my neighborhood. They have the best bread stcks that I have ever had at the bar. The only thing that upsets me about this place is that it is so damn hard to get into becuase it is so small and sooooo good. The only change that I would ask for is to make the restaurant bigger or open a nother one because its so good. But in all seriousness, there is something to be said about the charm of such a small place. I feel very special everytime I eat there and am so satisfied when I leave.

One of the best restaurants in NYC. Great food, great service. Couldn't ask for much more than that.

This place was a disappointment. I had steak which had been nearly demolished with salt. I was an awkward cut with masked pieces of fat. And then there were a few potatoes, all for over $30. The quality of the beef was actually not bad, but I could have cooked it properly myself. I have had better steak elsewhere for $20. There was no plate presentation for my main course. The dessert was good, so if you go there for a quick snack, you should have a better experience than I had. The service is good. In all fairness, I tried someone else's dish and it was better than mine, and actually looked good too. If you go, do not get the steak.

My boyfriend and I go to Spigolo about twice a month and every time it is equally amazing. This time I had a special salad of crispy mozzarella, pickled red onion, and fava beans on top of romaine with a parmesan dressing.... it was possibly the best thing I have ever had. Then I had the grilled jumbo shrimp with a side of polenta which was just as fabulous! The staff is so attentive and the ambiance is wonderful... It's honestly the best italian in the city!

Everything was delicious. We got in w/o a reservation and was very impressed that they worked us in at a table until bar seats opened. The food is by far the best on the UES. You have to try it. The octo is amazing!!! Get some faccia bread too! I could have lived w/o the Chef's yelling, especially at his wife. It is only food, it is great food but relax you are definitley doing something right.

My fiance and I have been to Spigolo many times, and each time it gets better. We never get the same thing twice and are always stunned at how fresh and delicious each dish is. The restaurant is small (during the summer the outdoor seating allows for a larger crowd,) but it's size adds to the atmosphere. You feel as though each dish has been especially prepared for you. We have recommended this restuarant to many people, all whom have loved it!

I called for a reservation 2 1/2 weeks ago and was told I could only get 6 or 9:30 pm.. They called to confirm 2 days ago and the message was loud and clear that since my reservation was at 6 we should be out by 8 for the next group!!! When we arrived, the place was not very full. I asked for a specific table away from the cold door and was told they needed it for a party of 4. Once the people were all seated at that table, they were parties of 2! My friend order a "glass" of Chianti and was told when they were about to pour that it was $17 per glass. The food is good but not exceptional. I don't know what they think they have there. You wouldn't believe it from this review but I am not one to complain!!
