Recently went here to celebrate some birthdays and despite the casual setting, had some of the most fantastic, sophisticated and satisfying food ever. The lamb osso bucco special was a true standout, with such wonderful contrasts of flavor and texture, right down to every detail, that it ranks as the best preparations of this dish I've ever encountered. But truly, everything, even the wine, was great. The service could not have been lovelier. The noise level was perfect. You could hear your tablemates, but there was a pleasant buzz around you so that you couldn't actually hear anyone else's conversation. I'll be back!

For years I wanted to go to spigolo. I've heard rave reviews a lot of them from menu pages which I usually trust. I live in the area and love the local great restaurants. The food was really good but the portions were tapas size and not tapas prices. I got the chicken which was delicious but literally was two tiny pieces the size of chicken nuggets (not exaggerating) and cost about 30 dollars. After dinner I went home and had a second meal, since i felt too annoyed to order more over priced food. The service was also bad. My waitress was rude and acted as though she was doing me a favor by taking my order. I love great food but on the upper easy side there's too many good options to settle for appetizer size entres.

My husband & I live on the UES and have been wanting to try Spigolo since it opened. We finally got the chance to go for my birthday a few weeks ago. On a whim, we got the tasting menu, which was out of this world! A little of everything, each perfectly paired with wine. A great value, excellent service and a romantic, quiet atmosphere. We had a great time and I would recommend this restaurant very highly!

My wife and I are new to New York and the Upper East Side. A client of mine recommended that we dine at Spigolo Restaurant. He told us it could be difficult to get a table and recommended dining at the bar. We arrived on a Saturday night to a full bar and restaurant. The bartender said seats should open up soon. We got bar seats in about 10 minutes. The food was amazing! The bartender was incredibly helpful with food and wine recommendations and had us charmed with her quick wit! We had three courses each and loved everything! Spigolo is a winner!!

I typically use Menupages to make decisions about where to eat. I went to Spigolo a few years ago for my birthday and had a nice time. The menu seemed very limited and the waitress was useless in terms of helping some of my guests decide what to order. Told us that all the portions are small. Next issue was it was freezing in the restaurant. Bread was stale. I order the gnocchi which I couldn't eat. The butternut squash ravoli was so sweet that that was also a bust. Salads were good. Atmosphere was pretty drab no energy in the place. I think the only thing that was good were the breadsticks on the bar. This is the first time I have written a review. And have done so because I didn't want someone else to ruin their evening dining here. Wish I thought it was great because it is in the hood. They need to take it up a BIG notch.

Everything about Spigolo is amazing....food, owners, service, ambiance of a small cozy establishment. The pasta dishes are very fresh and well portioned. Also, unlike other restaurants that wait to seat you when you arrive for your reservation, there is no waiting when you arrive as they reserve a specific table for you.

The menu is very good, the portions small, the service friendly enough but felt as if they were clearing the plates and pushing us out from the moment we sat down. We were out in 1 hour 15 minutes, we had to hold on to the plates whenever we put down a fork.
