before moving restaurant space was better laid out-- there are no spaces between tables. reservations no longer honored and even the food has gone down. In their original space this was one of the best. chefs might have changed as well.

This place is wonderful! Every good review I read before I went there tonight turned out to be true. Especially the part about the amazing food, friendly staff, and extremely engaging and welcoming owner/chef. My new local.

I made a reservation, in person, for 4 people, 3 days in advance. When I arrived at the restaurant, there was one empty table for 6 people. My reservation was in the computer, but Spigolo refused to break up the empty table for 6 and they refused to seat my party of 4. They offered us nothing for the error in our reservation - no bottle of wine, not even an apology. We have been regular customers for at least 5 years and were very disappointed.

Warm, friendly, West Village type place in a sea of not worth it restaurants on the UES. Food is always terrific and specials are creative. The chef-owner loves his work and welcomes his guests. Bartenders are knowledgable and fun. Don't ever leave the 'hood and stay yummy please!

The UES is lucky to have Spigolo and I would recommend foodies from all over the City travel to experience this creative, delicious restaurant. The portions are more than adequate - plus if you order a dish to share the kitchen will put it on two plates which I always appreciate. Menu highlights include the steak with roasted potatoes, ceasar salad and lobster tagliatelle. Scott is an amazing host and makes customers feel welcome and well cared for... The night my fiance proposed, he worked with Scott to plan a special tasting menu with all of our favorite foods. Each dish was better than the next and it was the most special meal we ever had. I frequent Spigolo quite often. I dine both at the tables as well as the bar. I love the inventive and seasonal food as well as the delicious and creative cocktails that they serve. The waitstaff and the bar staff are wonderful.

While I was so excited to eat at Spigolo - I've never been so disappointed. Although the food was fine (over-rated and over-priced) but fine, the Service was subpar. I'm not exactly sure how they select their staff, but they may want to think about starting over with a new team - unless they're going for pretentious and snooty. To all, I'd recommend spending your $ someplace else.
