    I love SPICE!

I have gone to eat at SPICE very often before I moved to Maryland about 3 years ago. I love the place. The food awesome and service wasn't too far lower than what I expected. It is what I call the "modern Thai food"!

    Worth it!

I've gone to Spice many, many times. Everything from the plates to the bathroom faucet is made to feel hip. The music is always too loud and the space always a little cramped, but the food is consistent and solid. I have no idea how "authentic" it is, but I can say that it's yummy and, best of all, far cheaper than many other sit-down options for Thai that I've been to. I take friends here all the time for the lunch specials. Calling them on the phone, though, is often very hard. They're always busy and rushed, so it can turn into a frustrating experience ordering out.

    eh

Consistently some of the worst Thai I've ever had, but it's fast and cheap and near my office. Lunch special is a good deal. But it does not taste like Thai food. The pad thai is no good.

2nd Ave location not as good as 13th street

I have been going to Spice for years, I was a regular at the original on University. The other day i was at the 13th street location eating the lunch special with a friend, the woman next to me ordered the 3 flavor fish with the dipping sauce and vegetables, it looked amazing - huge fresh crispy fish pieces. Well i just ordered that 'amazing' looking meal from the 2nd Ave location for delivery. I am eating it right now and it is a disappointment. Instead of spicy fish fillets, I received, fish sticks (literally) with NO flavor, on top of over cooked cabbage and a dollop of sweet and sour sauce. They wouldn't even serve this at a homeless shelter - it is that bad. It is literally the worst 10 i may have ever spent. Why the different quality Spice?

Best Thai food around Union Square

Excellent service, nice atmosphere, heard there might be a line but not when we were there. Lunch menu has a good variety, recommend trying the Thai Iced Tea here and the Siamese Fried Rice.

    excellent

spice is an amazing restaurant but this one (on university) is a little packed so the waiters are everywhere trying to please everyone so i bet you can understand why sometimes they're a little out of breath or crabby. other than that the food is amazing, great prices for the amout they give you and im definately going back.
