Spice Market

Have eaten here several times, every time has been wonderful. Perfect food, nice, friendly staff, good ambiance and don't recall having to wait. Today had lunch with my two year old daughter and we were seated without the slightest hesitation, waiters were very friendly and helpful etc. Ordered the chicken samosas and the curried duck and both were very good. Would suggest this to anybody, except people who do not like spicy (my two year old does...)...

I love Spice Market. I've been here several times and always take out-of-towners. Every time I go it's delicious and I love it more than the last. Can't go wrong here!

spice market is a fantastic place, the atmosphere is one of the best in the city, service is good, not exceptional, food is outstanding, with some exceptions. the apps are amazing, the pork satay sounds boring and i hesitated on ordering, wow, they are amazing, the beef skewers, ditto, wow, amazing. the thia chicken wings are solid, but, very spicy, the samosas are just ok, the tuna is different, and enjoyable. dinners are hit and miss, the cod is exceptional, the short ribs are amazing, the striped bass is very good, but, extremely spicy, the chicken is good, but, nothing special. deserts could use work, nothing really jumps out at you, but, the thai jewels are pretty wild. highly reccomend this restaurant. very consistent, have been there maybe 20 times.

We went for our anniversary- had reservations about 3 weeks in advance. When we got there, still had to wait over 1 hour for our table. Staff was not apologetic- just "Please wait at the bar" mentality. Food was nothing special- I've had better food at Indian-Chinese fusion restaurants for less money.

My husband and I had dinner at Spice Market last night. The food was better than I expected since I read so many negative reviews. The calamari salad was especially delicious! The service was exceptional. Our waiter was very friendly and offered suggestions. I would definitely go back.

The restaurant is so hyped up and like so many that are...are usually disappointing. Spice Market has all the looks, from the dim light beautifully carved wooden panels to the hanging bird cages... Since it was in the meatpacking, I wasnt' expecting anything less that cool and chic. However, that was the only thing that was good. The wait staff was curteous but was not goof at taking orders and getting the food right. The prices were of course too much for the pedestrian fare. The ribs were laughable and the spring rolls were not good. The noodle dishes were also poor ... It was really mediocre Asian food. I wonder if the chefs really just threw all the stuff together last minutes. I would not go there again to eat...perhaps only to drink...and not on a weekend.

Although I've made a reservation for 9o'clock and was on time, I was seated 30 minutes later. I had to check on the availability while the hostess was busy chatting with fellow workers...The menu-list was pretty new to me therefore I have asked the sever for recommendation after telling him my taste. He wasnt able to exlplain thoroughly and just kept on saying "its good its good" I ordered it and was so dissapointed with the taste cuz I had told him I didnt prefer soup-like dish. As soon as we were done with our dish the busboy came to the table and started cleaning all the plates even though we still had a half bottle of wine to finish. I was very annoyed with their service that I didnt even finish the wine.
