mixed
My husband and I had lunch here recently and were put off by the swampy smell permeating the space; however, I'll admit it was somewhat reminiscent of Bangkok streets in August, so the experience had some authenticity to it. Service was okay, but a little apathetic. The server brought a plate to the table with a big greasy fingerprint on it. We never received the coffee we ordered and had to ask that it be taken off the check. My husband's green curry was sufficiently spicy and very flavorful, but my pad thai was rather bland. There's better Thai to be found elsewhere, but Spice isn't entirely bad considering the absence of Thai eateries on the UES.

Excellent food, excellent service
I am a regular at Spice and the food is consistently excellent. Although seating in the restaurant can be tight, the service is very good. I agree with other posts regarding delivery...it can be average, slow or very slow. The slow delivery time is the only drawback to this otherwise excellent establishment. The emerald vegetable dumplings are outstanding and the Ginger-Pineapple (with shrimp) is light, tangy and sweet..simply divine.

Spice
The food here was great. Try the 6 oclock train spicy fried rice - its the best fried rice i've ever tried. The seating is a bit tight but overall the experience was great

i love spice!
Fried rice, with chicken, and brown rice instead of white, is seriously heaven. They made all kinds of dietary exceptions for me and the food was incredible.

Delivery not recommended
Not only did the delivery woman tell me it would take 25 minutes, when i called to complain an hour and 15 minutes later, the staff was rude.

Great food
I order from this place basically once a week. I can't get enough of the drunk man noodles. The delivery service is slow but they are almost always on top of the delivery time when you call, if they say an hour and a half, its probably going to take that long, even if you live a block away, so don't expect it there in a half hour.

Great food, Poor Delivery
We'd heard great things so we decided on delivery. What a bad idea. Delivery took an hour and 20 minutes! I'm not joking. We tried to call and cancel our order twice. The first time the nice lady over the phone said "Sorry, the delivery guy is on his way right now"...that was an hour after ordering! So we said "okay" meekly...and hung up. But...ha. the joke was on us...he wasn't really on his way because we called 20 minutes later and got a guy on the phone who said "He's leaving RIGHT now". We were so mad by then but so hungry we decided to just keep our order. The food was great unfortunately. I'd love to order from there again but after that experience vowed there's too many other places that deserve our business.
