    poor service

I order from here often and think the food is delicious. But the service both in the restaurant and over the phone is way below par. I ordered 2 orders of hte same dish and asked for one regular and the other spicy. When i asked that they indicate which is which on the container I was informed they couldnt do it. Why cant the cook put a simple "S" or something on the container when he put s the lid on it? Its not rocket science. For a place that is so popular its amazing what they get away with in service expecially in Chelsea with at least 5 other Thai restautrants within 5 blocks on 8th Ave. I will be trying some of the others from now on!

    mixed review

Went here on a Sunday night with a friend from out of town who heard of it through a friend. I was craving spring rolls so decided to order some..bad idea...there was way too much herbs in it..the rice paper it was wrapped in had been sitting out too long and became stale and hard. It was probably one of the worst spring rolls ever. DO NOT ORDER SPRING ROLLS. after that disappointing start of the meal I got my drink, a passionfruit lemonade. it had great flavor but was WAY too sweet...I added some water into it and it was pretty good but still not worth $3 since it was in a tiny glass half filled with ice. I ordered the drunken noodle as my entree but was brought the black noodle...I didn't notice until halfway through the dish..but the dish was really good...pretty standard flavors but done well and I really enjoyed it..I just wish the waitress *who was really nice* wouldve brought me what I ordered! Will go back again to try the drunken noodle b/c it's a very cheap dinner and a decent amount of food. Do not go there if you're starving though because they do give you proper proportions of food which I liked. I will try another appetizer next time. I WILL NEVER ORDER THE SPRING ROLLS AGAIN and I will double check with the waitress what my order is before she leaves! The decor was nice, not over the top but decorated nicely. The music was kind of erie..it was a digitalized sound of a typmany drum beat four times getting softer each time and don't think it was appropriate for the mood, which was very dimly lit. The bathroom floor was sticky so I wouldn't recommend going in there..you're better off finding a starbucks nearby.

    great

Best place for cheap Thai. I stopped going to the University location because the service was so bad. This place is far superior.

    great!

A friend took me to Spice once while I was in NYC for the weekend and it was excellent. I go back every time I go to New York. The food comes really fast which is surprising since the place is always packed, but (as people have said before) the servers aren't the most attentive, then again as a server you can't always give 100% personal service when you're constantly on the run trying to get tables open for the huge line outside the door. Anyway the food is worth it and the prices are great, just expect to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated.

    Worth It!

I've been coming here for about 5yrs, after a friend took me here and it continues to be a great place to dine and given the quality of the food they could easliy charge much more. The service is always fast maybe not as attentive as i would like but they have a high turnover given the fast service....the food is always fresh as well. the lunch menu is awesome for the price given the neighborhood but get there before 1pm.. as it gets packed quickly. this place is worth it..

    Great Find!

I found this place randomly thanks to great online reviews about 6 months ago and I've been coming back ever since. Yes, it is small and you feel squeezed (but so are many Village restaurants and no one is complaining about those). And the staff may not be the most attentive in the world but you get what you pay for and much more! The quality of the food (and drinks) for the prices you pay is truly amazing. It doesn't get too packed until later so go earlier, if you can. Pomegranate martini (if they still serve it) is a must!

    Can't Complain

I love their food, I am not usually one to try many different things, once I find something I like, I stick to it. But in this restaurant I have been there three times and every time I find something I want to try. All the dishes have been amazing to the point that I take my friends there constantly. The service is slow, they take plates away without asking and they always forget to refill one of the water glasses no matter how many people are at the table. But I've have been to places worst that this one, where the food takes hours and the servers give you the check before you even get the food. So its not that bad.
