Spice

A friend took me to Spice once while I was in NYC for the weekend and it was excellent. I go back every time I go to New York. The food comes really fast which is surprising since the place is always packed, but (as people have said before) the servers aren't the most attentive, then again as a server you can't always give 100% personal service when you're constantly on the run trying to get tables open for the huge line outside the door. Anyway the food is worth it and the prices are great, just expect to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated.

I've been coming here for about 5yrs, after a friend took me here and it continues to be a great place to dine and given the quality of the food they could easliy charge much more. The service is always fast maybe not as attentive as i would like but they have a high turnover given the fast service....the food is always fresh as well. the lunch menu is awesome for the price given the neighborhood but get there before 1pm.. as it gets packed quickly. this place is worth it..

I found this place randomly thanks to great online reviews about 6 months ago and I've been coming back ever since. Yes, it is small and you feel squeezed (but so are many Village restaurants and no one is complaining about those). And the staff may not be the most attentive in the world but you get what you pay for and much more! The quality of the food (and drinks) for the prices you pay is truly amazing. It doesn't get too packed until later so go earlier, if you can. Pomegranate martini (if they still serve it) is a must!

I love their food, I am not usually one to try many different things, once I find something I like, I stick to it. But in this restaurant I have been there three times and every time I find something I want to try. All the dishes have been amazing to the point that I take my friends there constantly. The service is slow, they take plates away without asking and they always forget to refill one of the water glasses no matter how many people are at the table. But I've have been to places worst that this one, where the food takes hours and the servers give you the check before you even get the food. So its not that bad.

... and I've eaten in a lot of Thai places. Spice has a more exotic/fusion variety but it's still pretty awesome. Try the drunken noodle more tomato-y than typical drunken noodle but still extremely good. Everything I've had here (as well as what my friends have had) has been excellent. It's crowded and tiny. As far as this place goes, you don't go for the ambience or the warm, friendly service... because, well, it's not like that. When you go, go for the food and the lychee martinis! (Yum!)

surprised by how good the food was, how packed the place was and how indifferent, distant and cold the staff was. But definitely go for the food - worth it!

My friend took me there last night for dinner and I thought the food was great and not that expensive. On the other hand, the space was so small - I'm a small person, but I felt like an elephant in there. It took me about a minute to walk 10 feet, and I was afraid I would knock the drinks off the tables along the way. The service wasn't that great either. The people were nice, but they seemed really unprofessional they took away some plates without asking us if we were finished and hovered around, looking like they wished we would leave really soon. Other than that, it's a great place for casual dinner, yummy Thai food and decently priced drinks. I wouldn't go there for a date, tho...
