    Not recommended

i thought the atmosphere is great but the food lacked some serious quality. I would not recommend this thai place because i don't feel like it's very authentic.

    like a chinese food spot

the food is low in price with huge portions. it's flavorful, greasy and satisfying. this is not upscale thai even though the decor is nice and somewhat romantic. i order takeout, which is fast and theyve never messed up an order. it satisfies a chinese food type craving without being gross like chinese food.

    Great Thai food

We always do delivery to our salon, food comes fast and hot and delicious!! Never had problem with them food is cheap, salty? I don't think it's ever been salty ... It does have salt in it so if ur use to no salt just let them know caus the food is amazing, I always get the basil chicken and spring rolls always the same and tasty. :) highly recommend it.

Execellent Value at Lunch Watch out for 236 8th!

There are many Spices in NYC. I have MANY times had the lunch from this location and also had dinner. The lunch is the same food at a fraction of the price. The basil with onions and mushrooms add meat is great as are some of the soups and apps.

    very disappointing and mediocre

I enjoyed the restaurant the first time I was there, right after they'd opened their larger venue, so I went back with enthusiasm. Unfortunately, every dish we ordered was mediocre and disappointing. The duck in the warm duck salad was cool, and when that was pointed out, the whole dish was microwaved or warmed over, lettuce and all, and just thrown back on the plate, not presented piled up as when first served. The ribs appetizer was room-temperature, and needed to be heated; it was lack-luster either way. The worst was the marinated, grilled red snapper which appeared old and warmed over from the start, and tasted as much. Service is hardly attentive. It took forever to find out waitperson, and forever to get the food served and then returned after the complaint. Not a good experience all around. I don't think I'd bother to try them again.

All the food we ordered was cold

I had eaten here once before and totally enjoyed my meal, so I was eager to try it again, but was totally surprised to find that all the dishes we ordered were really terrible. The warm duck salad was served with the duck cold. After we complained, instead of serving us a fresh version of the order, the kitchen apparently just put the whole dish in the microwave and served it again - they didn't bother to reconstruct it or redo it, but just slopped back down on the plate, no longer resembling the original attractively presented dish we had first been served. It was better warm, but I didn't expect to be served micro-waved salad greens. The rib appetizer was served at room temperature and it too had to be sent back to be heated up; at either temperature, they were totally undistinguished. The marinated fish fillet entree looked old and dry, and was bland in taste. Honestly, every dish was awful, whileas the last time I ate there, shortly after this larger location opened, the food was quite good, and I had been eager to come back. I would add that service was hardly attentive; we could rarely find our waitress just to let her know the problems we were encountering once the kitchen served the food. I would not be quick to eat here again. Too bad. Because if the food was remotely good, it would be a good value.

    Not the same

Disappointed. Food has changed. I've ordered delivery lunch from here for a few years but lately I've notice the food quality has declined. Pad Thai tasted burned, panang curry (a former fave) was inedible, curries have gotten greasy, and very spicy with no other flavor. Jasmine rice was plain white rice!! Spring rolls were still decent, but not enough bring me back. After a few terrible lunches, I will not be back! There's much better Thai in Chelsea!! This place lost its game.
