The food is very good quality, but it's a limited selection. No matter how good the food is, this is not a 5 star restaurant, they are wayyyyy to expensive w/ their salad bar. I work across the street and only go to speedy's in a moment of desperation. No matter how little I pick up my lunch is no less that $8 (for a spoon of food!). I got fed up. And like a previous post said customers are always asking them to verify the price of the items they picked up. They don't post how much they charge @ the salad bar but when I asked they said either $7.99 or $8.99 a lb. That's bizarre! Bring your heavy wallets if you plan to visit. I take my business to other salad bars in the area.

We were lucky enough to find Speedy's on our last trip to New York City. On a hot day looking for a cool drink, we ordered the Latte Smoothie. I can say it is the best being made from espresso, chocolate, gelato ice cream, milk and ice. Delicious. Went back three times during our weeks stay in New York. Will definitely go back. Gotta love those New York City Deli's.....

I go to speedys almost every day as I work literally across the street. Its not gourmet, but its reliable, tasty, and yes, speedy. If you can get past the crowds that show up around lunch time, you can find a good lunch buffet with reliable staples like their salmon and crispy chicken and a rotating assortment of pasta, veggies, soups and salads. I suggest paying and leaving (the upstairs dining area is ok but loud and crowded most days) and be careful of ordering "heavy" food as you pay by the pound and it can definitely get pricey. But if you're looking for a quick, decent lunch and you don't mind plowing through 50 other people to get to the food, Speedys is a good bet.

The staff is beyond rude, and completely ignores you. The system of a line does not exist. They have lost my business and i will not be going there again. There is no manager to speak with regarding any complaints. Time and time again you will observe customers disputing prices with the cashiers. horrible place with horrible management and staff!!!

Speedy? Yes. Pricey? Uh huh. Never go anywhere that weighs your food. I wound up spending $10.50 on lunch, & I was even careful with the amount of food I put on my plate! Until I'm rich, I won't be going back.

Speedy's is anything but speedy. I have been waiting for my delivery for over 2 hours. They should change the name to Amateurs
