Simply Awesome Midtown Lunch.
Although it is a take out place with not much to be said for the ambiance - the food at Speedy's is phenomenal. From the outside you would think it was just a run-of-the-mill midtown takeout spot, but don't judge a book by it's cover! The premade food like the beef stew, mashed potatoes are hearty and delicious, the salad ingredients are fresh tasty and the selection of options seems endless! If you work in the area I highly recommend this place.

Wish there was one in my hometown!
Stayed nearby. Tried it the first morning of trip. Bagels were excellent! Family members enjoyed the breakfast bar. The next two mornings tried other places-bleh. Headed back to Speedy's. The staff was so friendly. I commented on the bagels and the staff person said they make them on site. They make everything on site. Very impressive. Fresh, original, friendly!

This Little Jewel Doesn't Stop Popping Up
Visited NYC last summer and stumbled across this place at 4 in the morning. The staff was very friendly and the milkshakes were fantastic. We went again the next two nights and had the same wonderful experience. We came back a few months later for a concert and went to Speedy's for lunch. Slightly expensive, but worth every penny for the variety and quality. They even remembered us from our previous trip. Now one of my NYC favorite places. Going back for the same concert tomorrow and plan on hitting up Speedy's, for sure.

the best
we've been there for a week and we always got breakfast there and after two days also dinner. We were staying close, at the herald square hotel, and it was the best place we could ever find. We will never "betray" it when back to NY

Delicious and abundant food!
I used Speedy's catering service for a reception for sixty people attending. The food was hot, delicious and abundant. People attending the reception were asking me what caterer I used and I gladly gave them the information. I highly recommend Speedy's.

Gourmet
It wouldn't be off base to say the quality of the food is gourmet. That said, it is really not that expensive. Great breakfast as others have said, and they also specialize in catering to all your order modifications if you have any. If you're ordering: let's just say they live up to their name.
