Spasso

I went to Spasso last night with two of my friends. The food was amazing, but was most impressive was the service. It was such a pleasure to have a waiter that took the time to answer all of our questions as well as give us great recommendations. Also, we were sat a little later than our reservation and the host apologized several times and even bought us a couple rounds of drinks. All in all it was a great time.

Restaurant space is really neat-- there is fabulous bar area as well as a kitchen table. Had high expectations for food quality going in knowing that the chef is from Convivio and he did not disappoint. Prosciutto w/ crisp apples, rabbit w/parmigian and arugula, and the mussels were my favorite apps. The kale soup w/ pancetta and ricotta was also a standout. Of the pastas, all were good-- but my favorites were the braised duck leg pasta and the pork ragu pasta. Pork shoulder and grilled lamb chops were standouts in the entrees. And even the veggie sides were memorable-- loved the tomato braised escarole. A great place to go with a group of friends and share amazing food or to have a charming Italian meal with a date.

I dined at Spasso last night and though it was delicious. The sliced meats were perfect to share with my friend and the service was on point. I had the pork ragu and my friend has the lamb chops. I knew this place was new, but when the server said it was their second night i was shocked. Most restaurant are not this together after 2 years. Prices were cheap compared to other spots and i just Love that they have 2 bars with no reservation policy. I live in the 'hood and know they will always have a seat for me.
