I have never seen larger steaks placed in front of me than the 16 oz. of medium rare delicious cow served to me here. There was just no way to finish it all... esp. with appetizers and the side of potatoes (absolutely delicious, you won't regret these)! Maybe try going for lunch so you have the rest of the day to digest your food. Only complaint was the atmosphere. While elegant, it felt a little stuffy. Like it's for a men's society or something. I don't know, maybe that was just me. Either way, go and you won't leave hungry!

My friends and I go here once a year - yes, it's expensive but it's completely worth it. Our reservation times are always honored, the wine glasses are never empty, and they have the best sirloin and filet mignon I have ever had (not to mention the hash browns)... The servers are attentive and friendly and the desserts are great too.

Overall a great experience...the service was excellent and the food was delicious as expected, our server was courteous and effective. Highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere, attentive service, excellent wine recommendations by our server. Enjoyed their signature steak, which was cooked to perfection. I could care less about the tirmmings or anything else for that matter, I want good meat when I go to a steak house and Sparks always delivers.

A surly, unhelpful slow waiter who stood over me as I was signing the bill, and snatched it just as I signed it...oversalted, gristly sirloin, a plate of bland spinach. I think the trouble started as we requested normal water, not the fizzy stuff, and only ordered a $50 bottle of wine. I'm glad it was just my girlfriend and a couple friends, not a client to impress...I wouldn't return, even with an expense account.

I have been to many of the NYC "best of the best" steakhouses and this one to me is far and away the best. The service here was among the best I have ever had in NYC. The wine list is huge and they served the wine at the right temperature. The filet was the best I have ever had. They make a serious bar cocktail as well. Pricey, of course but not unexpectedly so. If you want the experience of what a quintessential steakhouse should be (at least in my mind), this is your place.

I've eaten at Sparks about a half a dozen times, and am most surprised the consistently friendly, warm service. The food is great, and it's the perfect place to take people from out of town. As far as NY steakhouses, this one is up there. Don't miss it.
