Let Me Down
I was extremely disappointed with my visit. I had been with great authority how good it was and it just ok at best. Our waiter left us hanging all night, needing more drinks, more water and forever for the check. He kept complaining that he couldn’t hear, I think it was a listening problem. I ordered a filet medium rare and came out medium well. I don’t send food back in expensive restaurants as I feel it makes the rest of the table feel a little awkward when they have a $50.00 steak in front of them getting cold while someone else is setting there with nothing. The quality of the food was very good but I will not be going back. Too many great restaurants in NYC to tolerate this. I read another review while sitting at the restraint waiting for food that pretty much echoed my same experience.

Better Than Before
I've been to Sparks on four previous occasions. It was always good but never my first choice in the city w Lugers, Del Friscos etc. This past Friday I went to Sparks, and, rather than get the sirloin, which I had been told was their signature cut, I got the filet. I was blown away by both the quality and sheer size of the steak. $47 is a steep price to pay, but wow. It could have easily been two meals. I also tried the prosciutto and melon appetizer which was not only very good, but an enormous portion. Our waiter was young and a bit more friendly than some of the others I have had. All in all, if you are in midtown and have $250 to drop on a nice steak dinner, go for it.

Perfect variety of food
I visited Sparks steak house with my girl friend once. She is a little choosy on food but she really enjoyed her food there at Sparks. Actually the steaks were delicious and there service was overwhelming.

Consistent Quality
Ate at Sparks three times in space of three weeks. Now, I've been going to Sparks for years and it's my favorite steakhouse. All three times I ordered the prime sirloin, medium rare. It was like eating the same piece of meat each time. A salty crust, juicy tender meat inside, the best. One time I took an old friend who had the filet. She raved about it. Another time I took my daughter who ordered the shrimp scampi but tasted my steak and her eyes lit up. Now, I live out of the US most of the year and nowhere do you get steak that is as tasty as Sparks. I'm including all the Japanese Kobe and other marbled steaks. I also like to go alone at lunch, order just a scotch and my steak. I don't want my palate confused with sides. Just want to savor that steak. Then freak my palate out with a Padron Anniversary 1926 #1, unfortunately elsewhere.

Hope to visit Sparks Soon.
We visited Sparks on our trip to New York in November. The place was packed, we couldn't get in the door. I didn't know what was going on. We asked some guys leaving the restaurant "What's going on in there?", "Why is it so packed?". guy replied... This is Sparks. From the outside the place looks small, But they can sit over 600 people at once. And its packed. We Never saw a restaurant this size, and this packed in our life. The food was great. Portions are huge. (5+Stars) We will miss Sparks. You should open Sparks in London. See you soon. Randy

Let Down
Read all the reviews and figured I would try for myself. Have been to numerous steakhouses given that is what I love. Very poor steak and the worst part was the service. The waitor acted as if he was doing us a favor by waiting on us. The bread could have been used as a baseball at Yankee stadium. First trip to NYC and I won't go back to Sparks.

Poor steak
Overcooked the top part of the steak, not juicy, not very good experience
