    Really good

After reading the reviews I had decided not to give this restaurant a try, but the Ole Miss Alumni association had a football gathering there, so I tried it. I was pleasantly surprised. First the place was PACKED! But we had no problems with the service. I personally loved the Mac and Cheese. I'm originally from Louisiana, and I would say it was spicey, but I thought it was great. My group had baby back ribs, pulled pork sandwich, fried green tomatoes, briscuit, wings, cornbread, etc. and it was all good. The only thing I don't recommend even putting in your mouth were the beans. ICK!

    Love this Place!!!!!

I have been reading negative reviews about this place for weeks but I'm glad I went anyway because I LOVE this place!!! It is clear to me that people just like to be negative because the food was amazing. You can smell the aroma of the smoker (which the waitress told us they had in the back) as soon as you walk in the door. The baby backs were some of the best I've had in the city. Smoked to perfection, as was the smokey mountain chicken. The mashed potatos were awesome but the mac and cheese was the best!! I have never had anything like it before. Our waitress was so nice and went above and beyond to sit and talk with us even though we could see she was busy. We proceeded to the bar after to continue the fun with the bartender. Everyone made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to give us a great experience. The food was great ...service was superb....this is defintiely my new hang out!

    Seriously not good

Don't get me wrong, I love J. Timberlake, so I had to give his restaurant a try. And, being from the south, I was excited to have some southern food in the city. Don't waste your time here. Overpriced. Food isn't very good. I had a salad which was not good ( I mean, it's pretty hard to mess up a salad) the mashed potatoes were not good. They were regular potatoes and sweet potatoes mixed together with no gravy. Pick one or the other Justin - and, if you're going to use white potatoes - you need cream gravy. The macaroni and cheese was so-so, but a little spicy to be called southern (and I LOVE spicy food)... and just really not that appetizing. The worst part - the service. The waitress forgot half of the food that we ordered and a lot of the staff was rude or just didnt seem to know what they were doing... and, she never even filled my water-glass. The only drinks she offered us a refill on were the alcoholic ones (because of course this would raise the bill and hopefully for her - the tip). I do hear that it has a good atmosphere for drinks though and dancing late on Saturday nights. And, the drinks aren't too terribly expensive by NYC standards...

great place - good job JT

I was there this past weekend. We waited for 45 minute for our (4) table which is not bad for not having reservations on a Saturday night. We got the nachos with pulled chicken. OMG sooo good I couldn't stop eating it. We ordered the fried chicken and my friend ordered the pulled pork. It was so yummy. I wish it was closer to home. I would definitely go back there again.

    Not worth it

Tried to give the new neighborhood restaurant a try and was highly disappointed. The service was just not good. They had a hard time figuring out what sweet tea was and then after well over a half an hour and having to ask where it was, our food came and one of the dishes was wrong-they quickly fixed it though. We ate our food and not once did the waitress come over and check on us. Once we were finished she brought us the check and it was wrong-it took her three times to get it "sort of" right and we just ended up paying because we didn't want to have her try it again.

    No thanks

After waiting an hour for a table I finally went up to the hostess and asked about three tables that I had noticed were open for at least 20 minutes. She told me she hadn't seen them and then sat another party outside, where they did not want to sit, and eventually had to move them back in. (I had requested an outside table.) We finally sat outside where water from the air conditioners dripped all over us. Apparently the awning wasn't working and couldn't be rolled out. We moved tables and then proceeded to wait forever for service. (The host finally convinced a drunken group to sit there by telling them the feeling was reminiscent of being in a rain forest). The manager then came and asked us to move our table to make room for a large table, which we did. He promised us free drinks which never came. The food was just OK, absolutely nothing special. The coleslaw was just with mayo and the biscuit I could have made myself with the Pillsbury ready-to-bake. The beans and brisket had way too much sugar and the pulled chicken was dry. This place is filled with high schoolers who think they might catch a glimpse of Justin and drunks (at 9:00 pm). Someone needs to decide whether it's a bar or a restaurant because it just doesn't work to have both. The hostess and the waitress were personable but the service was so disorganized that I didn't really care how nice they were.

    Justin Please Check Your Restaurant!

Me and my friends went for a birthday celebration and we were very hopeful. We are all JT fans and I personally love Southern cooking becaue I was born and raised in VA and many southern places in NYC are a fraud! Unfortunetely, this restaurant is no different. The service was poor. The waitress was borderline rude, didn't check on us and ask us "if we were finished" like she wanted to clean the table despite the fact that several of us got our food late. The management did apologize for the waitress, so they got some points for that. The food is hit or miss. I was pleasantly surprised they served real sweet tea but it wasn't sweet like southerners make it...The macaroni and cheese is divine! Best dish on the menu and arguably the best I've ever tasted in a restaurant. However, the pulled pork is just OK, the fried chicken is way too salty, and the side dishes with mayoinaise is way too heavy on the mayo (potato salad and cole slaw tasted just like globs of mayo). I thought the atmosphere was good. A sorta of roadhouse hick joint complete with pictures of famous southern blues and rock legends. The music is loud, but that's what a southern roadhouse is supposed to be...I hope Justin listens to reviewers though and gets a new chef who really knows how to put his foot into cooking real southern food.
