    Kind of shocked...

Hospitality? I was excited to see a new entry into the Times Square/Hell's Kitchen BBQ wars...but my excitement turned into something else shortly after being seated. After 5 minutes of no server, menu or water in sight, we grabbed the nearest employee and asked for menus. It was another 5 minutes before our server introduced herself. Rather than just put a beverage order in, we placed our order for appetizers, food and drink all at once. The drinks arrived long before we were finally served water. We then had the hush puppies. Tasty, but overly greasy. I had the pulled pork, which was gamey and had to be doused with BBQ sauce to get any flavor. My partner had the fried chicken...it was moist but lacked any kick that I'd expect from the south. The mac n cheese was good...the mud pie was thick but serviceable, while the pecan pie tasted good but very sweet and a bit too chewy. With all the good choices nearby I doubt I'll be returning any time soon.

    Slow Start but still Amazing

I'm surprised by the negative reviews, I thought the food was really good. Sure the service could be better but come on, they just opened.. Daisy Mays is better but the dishes at SH are more interesting.

    good time and great food!

We ordered a combo plate and the ribs and chicken were great- great flavor and perfectly cooked. More than enough food. Appetizers- fried pickles and hush puppies- were quickly delivered and delicious. We didn't wait long for anything- drinks were served quickly and we had great service. Overall we had a good time and great food!

    Really Digger?

Sorry digger...I'm not going to a BBQ joint just so I can sip on a bourbon and have bar food. They promote themselves as Barbecue and they do not live up to their name. If that's the case, then they're crooks for slapping that kind of price tag.

    Disappointing food, nice atmosphere

Our BBQ nachos were just chips with BBQ sauce on them and some guacamole.. There were like three beans and hardly any cheese- we added chicken for $5 but I didn't see any chicken! Still got charged full price for it. The atmosphere and design of the place was fun- just don't go there hungry.

Is it "hospitable" to make someone wait 40 minutes for their drinks?

I was so excited for memphis style dry ribs in NYC that I was willing to overlook the Theme Park decor. What I can't overlook is the fact that it took 40 minutes for a pitcher of beer to make it to our table ... and thats after I had to flag down the waitress twice and beg her for it. Our food took only 55 minutes to arrive without one of the side dishes ... they ran out of collard greens .... Misery. Our waitress was completely useless and clearly made a horrible vocational error. The happy ending is that the food lived up to expectations. Was it worth the shitty service? No

    Let's Be Fair

They JUST opened, so yes service is a bit confused. But some items are darn tasty - buffalo shrimp, fried chicken livers, dessert! Don't go looking for "fall off the bone ribs" - it is not that kind of spot. Go to drink Bourbon in a great new space with tasty bar grub that's a bit different than the Murray Hill clone bars in the hood. Glad they've arrived in HK.
