souen defender!
i love souen, and after reading some of the negative reviews i feel the need to defend them. if you are used to over cooked, overly complicated dishes, this is not your place. if you are looking for meat and potatoes, this is not your place. if you are looking for mcdonalds, this is not your place! but if you are looking for good quality, healing veggies, not far from their natural state (see: plain steamed or with a freshly made, healthy sauce) then souen is for you. souen does not add anything unnecessary to their food, so if you are used to overly salted or msg-d food, you may find it bland. if you are used to real, clean food, you will certainly appreciate it. try the macro plate with tahini or carrot for the best lunch or dinner deal, or the pesto veggies, or the curry, or the peanut lime sauce veggies... and you should love it! simple and good food. period.

Wish It wasn't so inconsistent
Souen is so frustrating. Sometimes it's amazing-- the food is fresh, the service is friendly. And then it's not. They ignore you and serve you what looks like scraped-up leftovers. It's doubly annoying because it's one of the few places downtown that does decent macrobiotic food. Please, Souen! Get your act together.

wrong
says on site they deliver to me for 30dollar min + 15% delivery fee.. i order and wait and eventually get a call saying they are busy and far and that to get svc i must get 20 dollars more food.. i say shut the front door on souen.

Great service, atmosphere and food
I ordered some soup and really different healthy stuff. Had some organic wine with no sulfites , since i'm allergic and a lovely, wonderful meal. My server was a young , beautiful american girl who was eager to please. We will be back.

Bad service carry's over to delivery....
Loved the food in Union Square so tried to order from this location. After an hour of waiting, I called to find out my order had been lost. Instead of volunteering to comp my order or rushing my delivery, I was informed I was one dollar short of the delivery total (which was not told to me the first time) and that the food could not be delivered. Really?

Apathetic service
I've been to the Union Square version a few times, so gave this location a try.. what a mistake! Food & prices were on par with the Union Square location. I was never that impressed by the service there either, but this one really sank to a new low. The waitress acted as if she could care less. We asked for utensils... she never came back. Forget about checking up on us at any point of the service. Food was ok...nothing to write home about. Seriously doubt I'll ever go back to this location. The staff act as if they're doing ME a favor by taking my money and giving me sub-par service. They seriously need an attitude adjustment and to remember they're getting paid for this. We're not some hobos they're feeding out of the goodness of their hearts non gratis!
