    not the best argentinean food

This is the 3rd argentinian restaurant I try here in NY. The food is not that good. We order a "parrillada" and let me tell you that this is not an argentinean parrillada. The service was OK. It's also really pricey for the quality of food.

    Excellent steak!

We were pleasantly surprised by the Sosa Bella. Great attentive service even though they were busy with the last minute Broadway show visitors. I had one of the best steaks ever here in NYC. Cooked to perfection and it melted in my mouth along with the beautiful mashed potatoes. Gentleman across from me raved as well about his same meal. I will definitely return!

    Lovely atmosphere, mediocre food

The ambiance of this restaurant is absolutely charming, but I was left underwhelmed by the Fettucine dish I ordered. The food was good, but not nearly worth the price. Very very expensive for what you get!

A little $$$ for what you get

Had dinner here the other night. Nothing particularly special about what we ate. The calamari salad was a nice sized portion, but overpriced for what it was (some greens with calamari on top.) The Branzino was nicely prepared with spinach and roasted potatoes, but a bit pricey at $25 for such a small portion. The wait staff and manager were very pleasant, and the atmosphere is laid back. All in all, not a bad meal, but nothing to write home about.

    Nice Atmosphere, Subpar Food

I think my waiter was 12, nice guy but he didn't know his own menu to save his life. Ok, so I had the Bruschetta with the shrimp. The bread it was served on was excellent, the chopped tomatos were quite nice but the bloody shrimp had been cooked into little pieces of vulcanized rubber. I had the calamari salad next. Nothing exciting there and a tad bit on the acidic side but definitely edible. For mains I ordered the fettuccini with shrimp in red sauce. Again the vulcanized rubber shrimp made an appearance. The pasta had been boiled into utter flaccidity and I swear they used straight out the jar Ragu sauce with a heavy dose of black pepper! A couple of bites were all I could manage. At $18 a bowl I was looking for something much better than this. Well they were good sports about it at least and didn't charge me for the Pasta.

    Excellent Food

The food at this restaurant is outstanding. The atmosphere is comfortable and the decor provides a refreshing ambiance. The only downside is that the portions are not very big. However, the quality of the food far outweighs this tiny flaw.

A try at an Argie facsimile

Pleasant service, comfortable low-key surroundings and quality ingredients that, as prepared dishes, fall short of genuine Argentine fare. Steaks were tender and cooked as ordered but the beef flavor was absent in those reaching our table. The chimichurri was a toothless melange of coarsely chopped parsley and dressing as far removed from the real thing as NY is from Buenos Aires. An order of ceviche (not an Argentine dish, of course) was overly acidic. Overall: neither bad nor great a fair bet in a neighborhood that often short changes visitors' palates
