The service was so poor it really just ruined the meal. Food was just ok. We ordered drinks before we ordered our meal and didn't get them until mid way through our appetizers. They made my drink wrong and then it took another 25 minutes to get a new one. Very frustrating experience. And the restaurant wasn't even crowded they were half empty. Atmosphere is beautiful but I still wouldn't go back here. When my new drink came I realized she just threw more alcohol into my old one. I couldn't even drink it.

Outstanding Meal... a REAL restaurant on the Lower East Side!
This restaurant is a much needed addition to the LES. And it's not a wine bar with food like every other LES spot...it's an actual restaurant with a real menu. My girlfriend loved the Broccoli with cheese and the pasta with meatsauce. I had the gnocchi and one of the specials... I loved it. The wait was about 15 minutes... not the worst but was annoying to have to wait in the front which got kind of crowded. And the dessert was great (donuts and banana ice cream) but kind of pricey for dessert. But worth it. Probably one of my top 5 favorite italian restaurants in the city!

Wow.
Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back. The service was great, despite the full house. The atmosphere is pleasant, modern and upscale, but comfortable. However, the food is really the star here- rich and full of flavors. Amongst the gross-looking buildings of Chinatown/ LES, Sorella is a true hidden gem.

In the dark
It's so dark that they should supply flashlights to read the menus. The tiny flames on the tables are completely ineffectual. What's the point? Atmosphere? A small lamp you could hold the menu under would maintain the cave-like darkness. The food is very good, but the pasta portions are offensively small for $15 -- smaller than many half portions I've had. But it's the inability to even see -- much less read -- the menu that will keep me away in the future.

Salty
Nice space, friendly staff, amazing cocktails. Food is quite pricey and over salted. The owner chef is stunning.

Not worth it
Went here Friday on a date and will definitely not be back. The food was ok, but the portions were incredibly small. I was shocked by how small the cheese portions were (literally half a crumb of cheese per $6 portion) and when I tried to speak to the waitress about it they were incredibly rude. There are so many great places in NYC- I definitely won't be returning to Sorella.

Fantastic Italian food
Amazing food and great service... the breadstix and pastries will leave a very good impression.
