Did they put extra chilies when they made their green hot sauce today? b/c my mouth is burning! And I usually have a high tolerance of spice. I usually just go in for their empanadas and yuca - so good and inexpensive. They are pretty cheap with their sauce tho - one per customer even if you buy more than one empanada. Not very smart b/c then I'll just buy one.

I am a huge foodie and a cuban one at that. I don't understand the negative reviews as I have been ordering take out for years from this place. It's execllent value and portions and the food is great! Peril is very good as is the Ropa Vieja. I always opt for the yellow rice for white and the green hot sauce is a must!

The food use to taste alot better, the last time I ordered take out the food was cold and the rice taste like it was not cook.

This place offers great food at a great price. There is waiter service, but it is a cafeteria style setting, so not much atmosphere. Good pick for a lunch with co-workers. If your food is not spicy enough ,the Mojo sauce on the table rocks.

Such a disappointment, only good thing is that the portions are decent. Sophie's is split into have formal resturant with a wait staff and then an incredibly packed to go sandwhich and entree line, which blocked the kitchen and made the dining area very loud and anything but relaxing. I got the cuban pork sandwich for 6.50, but it was pretty bland. The pulled pork was good but not flavorable, just tasted like your everyday pulled pork sandwhich, but on the dry side. Very very hectic at lunch and slow moving lines. After standing in the sandwich line, you literally have to cut into the middle of the main line to pay. My friend got an entree and the rice was knock off rice you would find a cheap mexican take out place. Ok if you are in a rush and not looking for anything flavorful, but I wont be back.

Went there on the recommendation of friends who go often. Being latin, found the food bland at best. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, VERY bland. Salt and pepper did not help. The sandwich was small and greasy, had to leave 2/3 of the sandwich because it could not be made better with the salt, pepper and mojito seasoning on the table. The waitress rushes you out, I was still eating a plaintain when she took my plate and wiped her fingers on my napkin! Don't go during the lunch rush, or you will be rushed out.

Please give more food I went in to get some take out food the portion that they give you make you think they are feeding a baby the service has gotten worst since I been in there a year ago. three plaintains and small portion of rice for that price is an outrage.
