I have eaten food from Sophie a few times. But there beef stew is definately over cooked. It's dry, and the potatos are hard. The cuban sandwich is wonderful! Love it! I have tasted all their rice and It's good, not great! Roast Pork is sometimes salted! Tostones great! Grilled Chicken awesome!

Place gets crowded. Get there by 12 noon or it will be nuts. The black beans were okay. I’ll give it one more try. Service was fast. I felt like I was in a cafeteria. $8 buck for meat /rice/beans its not bad.

It's not home cooking but it is the next best thing. There are locations all over the city and you can't get a better deal for better tasting food anywhere. The portions are very large and you can't beat the price. I recommend the sandwiches since, for me, they are easier to eat than the large platters. The rice and beans aren't how I would make them, but they are pretty good. The delivery and service are excellent. I highly recommend.

I got the arroz con pollo here with blackbeans and it tasted bulletproof. Any Dominican or PR joint is ten times better than this

I can't believe people gave this place bad reviews. The food is sooo yummy. They only con is the lack of space. The tables are very close together.
