Quick food for a cheap buck
Well first and foremost anyone who is from the Carribean and has had authentic Cuban food knows this AINT it. But come on people you get what you pay for. But anyhow I love the shrimp in Garlic Sauce. Its delicious. The maduros is perfect with that as well. Honestly its a chain resteraunt in the city tryin to operate on serving quick affordable meals. Eat and be happy!

Lots of room for improvement
The place is crowded with poor line structure- takeouts take more than 5 minutes for 'scoop food' and pay. All employees behind counter are frantic and scared looking, and there's no sense of service at all. I ordered the Ox-tail, which came at a higher price tag from their regular meal, and was only compensated by 3 pieces of meat. Highly dissatisfied and will not visit again.

Too slow
The food is OK! But they take forever to send your food.

Nothing to write home about.
The food here is nothing special. The oxtails had very little meat and the meat on them was very fatty. The rice and beans were okay but you would expect better from a caribbean restaurant. You get a decent amount of food for the price and location. There is really no atmosphere to speak about.

First of all.....
First of all I am cuban and this is by FAR NOT the best Cuban restaurant in NYC. do I eat from there yes- I'll run in and get something quick to to- it's not bad for quick fast food. but if you are cuban you would know what cuban food tastes like and if you didn't know, the owners are NOT cuban so that should say something. I am NOT knocking this restaurant because as I said I go there sometimes but sorry it is NOT the best Cuban food. And it's true as someone said in their review- the rice is too red, the yellow rice with chicken is definetely not cuban and the oxtails nothing like we Cubans make it.

Mixed bag
The food is not bad fairly fatty. Asking for "beans" will give you a half-cup of liquid with some beans at the bottom. The service and atmosphere are absolutely the rock bottom worst. Highly, highly unpleasant. I eat here only when I am absolutely in dire need of red pork chops. The plantains are pure butter. The roast pork is so-so. The steak and onions are not bad. This place has so little going for it, I'm surprised it stays busy.
