I have only gotten food delivered so I have not eaten there. But the food that I got was fantastic. I had the yellow rice with black beans and Ropa Vieja (shredded beef stew) was very good. Empanada De Carne beef patty was ok maybe it does not travel well for it was not crispy. The Cubano cuban sandwich the guys here loved it. and for Cuban food the price is fair.

I just ate a Cuban sandwich from there. The pre-made sandwiches are taken out of a drawer and placed in a sandwich press (which is nice if you like meat that is dry and chewy and soggy bread). I also ordered french fries, they are so under-cooked, they become limp when you pick them up. Entire meal was not worth the money or the calories.

The prices for this location have increased. Its now 10 bucks for a plate of food. I ordered my food to go.The amount of rice given to me wasnt even enough to cover the bottom of the plate. My plaintains were overly dry for no apparent reason. Normally when I go to Sophies I eat and Im full without drinking water. This time I ate, then drink water and still didnt feel full or satisfied. Waste of my 10 bucks when you can just go somewhere even cheaper. My verdict: Save your money! or go to a different Sophies!

I have not been this happy with a new restaurant in a LONG time. I made yummy noises all the way through the meal...it would have been embarrassing but I was too happy to care. The fried sweet plantains were amazing - I got an extra order to go! The rest of my meal was fantastic - fried pork chunks with arroz moro - and the pork was not at all dry, which is sometimes a problem elsewhere. Everyone in my party had the same positive experience. Service was quick, our food came out fast even though it was packed during the lunch rush, and the meals are very reasonably priced. This is my new favorite restaurant, and I will be eating my way through the menu. Reminds me of some of the food from neighborhood joints in Orlando where the food is for real. Absolutely recommend this place!

I love Spanish food in general its just so good. For $8 you get rice, choice of meat, salad or platains. Delicious!I wash it down with a good ol' Malta. :) It's worth a try.

got back from Central America addicted to chix/rice/beans and plaintains! In Brookly, it's tio pio but in the city, sophies is my go to. A little pricey but you get fresh food every time. i have never been inside the place, only delivery so no idea about the atmosphere.

The food is not at all bad. When this store first opened, the portions were rather generous. However, for the price of a meal (rice and beans), I think that we should get much more bang for our eight bucks!
