After waiting 1 hour to be seated, the waiter rushed us to take our order. He brought out our entrees before we could finish our appetizers. I told him I was a vegetarian and I wanted the Camarofongo WITHOUT PORK. I took one bite and noticed there was pork in my food. I complained to the waiter and he quickly took my plate assuring me he would investigate. Ten minutes later, he came with the bill!! He didn't even comp. the meal!! I complained to the manager who offered to buy me a drink. This was the third and the last time I went there. I would NOT recommend this to anyone I like. Besides the drinks, it has always been a let down.

I enjoy the home style cooking, but to wait 2 1/2 hours for a party of 4 to be seated. I would return but next time I will hit off the managers to get our table sooner. The question was it worth the wait yes. But not for the second time around.

i will go again to sofrito's and that's for sure. their food was not the best ive had (i ordered the paella..and have had better). however, their portions are totally worth the price especially for a manhattan restaurant. i was amazed at how large the portions were. my friend had pernil and the portions were very generous as well but the taste was lacking a bit. i will def go back becuase of the portions. the pina colada is super swt and good since i dont like my drinks with too much alcohol. its a very trendy restaurant and a good mix of people there. families, grps of friends, good ambiance. lovely place.

You cannot rush when you make a sofrito, but when you eat at Sofrito you're rushed! We ordered the sampler appetizer for 7 + 2 additional appetizers and dinner was being served before they had taken the appetizer plates away from the table. Not only that, we hadn't even finished with the appetizers. They didn't even wait for all of us to finish eating before they started whisking away the plates of those who had finished. I had told them that it was my Dad's birthday and they brought a Flan and Tres Leches on a plate for him with a candle. However, they never asked any of us if we wanted dessert. Never asked if we wanted coffee or any after dinner drinks. Bill was shoved in our hands without even asking if we wanted coffee or anything else. I've eaten there either 4 or 5 times, but will think again before going back. It used to be a bargain, but it's not anymore. If I pay their prices I want to dine. For fast eating, I'll go to a deli.

This restaurant is nice but the 2 times we have been there, we were rushed out to the point of practically thrown out. It's not the greatest food so I don't see why you are rushed out. The food is good but I have had better on 116 Street. If you like to eat and run this is the place for you because you are forced to eat and run.

I enjoyed my birthday last evening at this unique, cultural, eatery, which my daughter has raved about for over a year. I found the food delicious, the staff and the service, a welcome invitation, to return in the near future, with friends. I regret, after reading some of the posted reviews that all don't share my enthusiasm. I realize however, that New Yorkers, (a discerning crowd), seek refuge and comfort in most outlets outside of business. That select group, might be better served by a fine therapist, and a peanut butter sandwich, for surely, Sofritos, will more than satisfy both palate & soul!
