Seriously don't waste your time or money. The food was bad, the service was bad. their sangria tasted off and when i told them they wouldn't replace it. WTF. hope that restaurant goes bankrupt.

Sofrito's on East 57th Street was a huge disappointment! The decor reminds one of a night club, with loud music...the food was very disappointing...bland, cold...and very expensive...The service was so slow...you forgot what you ordered....So not worth it!

As a 60 year old puertorican who knows his culture, I must say this restaurant does not come anywhere near at how puertorican cuisine should be made. My wife and I ordered the alcapurrias de yuca and the taste and presentation certainly needed a lot to be desired compare onto how it should be made. Our main dishes, the seafood salad - you needed to look far and deep to find the calamari and octopus, too much vegetables. And lastly the asopado de langosta, the taste was more towards bitter, very little rice and the price was not worth the meal. To all you out there, I know for a fact, you can find better food in the bronx than in Sofrito's. P.S. and I travel all the way from Long Island to be disappointed.

This is a CLUB that happens to serve food. The decor, chairs and tables are a bit like a cafeteria at college. To say it is loud is a huge understatement. If you do not mind not speaking to the people you are eating with then this is the place for you. The food is not good. The salad dressing has no taste, the appetizers, entrees and dessert were not good Puerto Rican food.

I love almost everything about Sofrito, excellent service, the most delicious puerto rican food and the drinks are incredible. Their mojitos come with sticks of real sugarcane. The only thing I don't like is the loud blasting music.

The food has a distinct taste to it. Taking in consideration the amount of people they serve . A little noisey but it's not considered to be a quiet dinner atmosphere.
