I've been to Sofrito's a few times, but never on a Friday night. Wow, what a difference!!! The place was jumping. We had late dinner reservations and when we walked in we were almost sad that we didn't come just to have drinks by the bar instead and listen to the music while mingling with the crowd. It was very, very lively, and once we were seated it was a different vibe as there was a great live band playing in the front of the dining room. Have a few cocotini's and beef empanadas before proceeding to your entree, you won't regret it! ENJOY.

We were a group of 9. The food was excellent. Great ropa vieja. Ok appetiziers. However, the service was very bad. The waiters were rude and the restaurant was not very accomodating. Reasonable priced. If you are going to have mojitos, have the sofrito mojito.

The hostess was not friendly or welcoming. She made me feel guilty for not having a reservation on a Tuesday night. My waiter seemed confused and was not really willing to explain the menu items thoroughly, just answered with yes and no questions. I have worked in the restaurant business and it is not okay to just say no to a guest, you should always offer alternatives and options. Besides that, the food was amazing, and very fairly priced. I would recommend reservations and hoping that you don't get the server I got.

I was there for the first time on Friday and it was amazing! The people, drinks, service, DJ and food were so well put together. The prices are awesome, our waiter was great. I recommend The tostones montaditos with sauteed steak, and shrimp. The pernil was amazing, and so where the pork chops, make sure you try the weird appetizers, like the clams in cilantro.

We went to Sofrito for my husband's B-day. We had a great time. We were able to secure a last minute reservation for 10:45pm. We got there early for drinks (try the cocotine or the pineapple mojito). By 9:45 we were seated. Everyone from the hostess, to the bartender, to our waiter was very kind and attentive. The food was to die for. I went back the following week. Serving size is tremendous. The pernil can feed three easy.

I have been to Sofrito 3 times already and am going back tonight. It has great ambiance, great people, great service and the food is also great. The apps are a liitle different than whats normal, but that makes them so special - and they're very tasty. The entrees are just fabulous.
